Must haves? For starters, Paris 10/10/69, Montreaux 3/7/70, LA Forum 9/4/70, Osaka 10/29/71, Southampton 1/22/73, MSG 2/12/75, and Earls Court 5/25/75. The version of MSG 6/7/77 was taken down on Dime because of extraction errors. A clean version is up on thetradersden.org.

For a few years there (1977-80), the Clash were the most exciting band in the world, bar none. As Pete Townshend put it at the time, "I wouldn't pay to see the Who. I'd see the Clash instead." Sure, they didn't always play in tune, and they were often sloppy. But they played with an energy and commitment that couldn't be denied. Things began to fall apart in

It's up on Zomb torrents as well. I got bounced from Dime a few years ago because of ratio problems and haven't reupped. I started with Dime by downloading some Black Flag and Replacements in which apparently no one else was interested in 2008. That put my share ratio at around .22 (I try to keep mine at 2:1 or better on other trackers). Live and learn.

Quoteskipstone Quoteab It's a terrible song, poorly executed. At the time, it was easily the worst first single they'd pulled from an album, even worse than Angie. Subsequent first singles have surpassed it, however (Anybody Seen My Baby, Streets of Love, to name two). Ha ha ha ha ha. I'll leave the rest of what you said alone but when I saw the 'easily the worst first sin

As beautiful as the black beauty that my lovely bride gave me a few years ago is, I'd give the nod to any sunburst Strat that's at least 25 years old and has just the right amount of wear and tear on it.

From thewho.com... "he Hull tapes were revisited and it was discovered that because the first reel consisting of four tracks had no bass, everyone had assumed that the whole show had no bass and didn’t listen to any more of it,but in fact the rest of the gig was complete. Through the wonders of modern technology, however, the full Hull recording has been repaired by flying in Entwistle

Quote71Tele How weird is it to have the journalist that wrote this be named "Bill Wyman"? A few years ago, Bill Wyman the bassist's lawyers sent Bill Wyman the music writer a letter demanding that the music writer cease and desist from using the name Bill Wyman as his byline. The lawyers backed down when told that the music writer was born William Wyman before the bassist, who w

Great idea, but stick to the British LP track configurations for the studio albums with a Past Masters type singles compilation. How many times should people buy the same old albums?

A larger, historically accurate Basement Tapes set would also be most appreciated. The current set has a bunch of Band tracks that were demos for Big Pink that were not recorded there.

I'd go with the UK version of Aftermath, largely because fans in the States got a bastardized version of it for so many years. Once the UK version was released worldwide in 2002, "A ha! Technicolor!"

In addition to the Supper Club shows, I'd also be interested in a more varied multidisc anthology that spans all 22 years of The Never Ending Tour. Compile it in the same way that Ian MacLagan did the Faces box set: no sense of chronology and jumping all over the place, like an archivist showing off his collection in a well-crafted vinyl session. One could compare and contrast different b
