Of the 18 or so songs on A Bigger Bang, this is one of my favorites. It reminds me of some of the songs on Some Girls. The lyrics are intelligent, the guitar work is great, and Jagger's voice is fine. Dangerous Beauty, Driving Too Fast, and Laugh I Nearly Died are other gems. I find it hard to believe that many fans dismiss ABB as a failure when these and 8 or 9 others on this greatly under

About every three years some third rate journalist writes an article like this. There is never any verification of the accuracy of these comments from the Stones organization or from the Stones themselves. These are just words and nothing else.

Star, Star certainly makes it worthwhile. 100 Years Ago is a real gem among gems. Those 2 songs alone make it one of my favorites.

It was in the fall of 1994 in Cincinnatti, at the Reds Stadium. My wife and I had been anticipating the concert for several months and were very, very excited. I had always wanted to see the Stones in person but had always been hesitant to go alone, as I was single at the time. In preparation for the concert, I had listened to every record they had ever made. When the Stones were announced, a roa

After sitting in the cold, pouring rain in lousy seats for over 2 hours at Churchill Downs, I vowed to never attend another outdoor Stones show. Nationwide Arena in Columbus, Ohio has excellent acoustics and the Stones have said they like performing there.

Not being a musician, I am probably using the incorrect language to describe what I am trying to say. This is a riff that you have always admired, but involes few chords. In spite of this, it is very effective. My vote goes to Low Down. Any others?

Mitch, That is not exactly true. Did you ever see Rock and Roll Circus? Mick is wearing flamboyant clothing and there are circus animals involved in the act. Mick used to wear lemon colored tights. If that is not Vegas, what is a Vegas act? I often ask myself this: if the Stones had had the opportunity to put on a magnificent show as they did with Forty Licks and A Bigger Bang (moving stag

This is cool footage of Keith playing a perfect solo for Time Is On My Side. Notice how Keith grooves to the music, moves about on stage fluidly, sways to the beat, and generally looks like a rock god. I personally like to see this kind of thing at a concert, as it adds to the drama and excitement. Some might call it posing or posturing but to me it is part of the Stones stage act. I want to see

I for one am sick and tired of all the seventies nostalgia, with the recent release of ten songs from Exile on Main Street. I want something new and innovative. I want rap, some blues, a disco song, several hard rockers, a few ballads, and more than anything else, a song that stays in the top ten for several weeks. At least one cover would be nice. It would be nice if Jagger could sing with other

I like everything he did with the slide guitar on A Bigger Bang. He was terrific on Slave and Black Limousine. Ronnie has always been one of my favorite guitarists (not taking anything away from Taylor, though).

I read that many great rock acts are cancelling shows and removing shows from their schedule. The economy still sucks big time and fans are complaining about expensive tickets, and many fans do not wish to pay even reasonably priced tickets with unemployment still near ten percent. My wife and I will go to the next Stones concert but all of us need to realize that the next concert may n

I'm sorry. I never did like it. It may grow on me over time though. It just doesn't sound Stonesy enough.I would give it a 3 out of a possible 10.

By all means they should tour. I am sick and tired of fans telling them what to do and what not to do. And yes, they need to be paid very well, since they are in fact the Greatest Rock and Roll Band in the World. If Keith wants to pose, let him pose. If Ronnie wants to clown around, let him do so. If someone standing next to me at a concert were to tell me to stop dancing or singing or making

Mick Jagger is one of the best rock singers in history, while Keith has never been known for his solo singing ability. But their singing together is something else. Imagine Bitch, Brown Sugar, 100 Years Ago, She Was Hot, Rocks Off, and many others without Keith's occasional harmonizing. The songs would be different and bland. He manages to hit just the right note at just the right moment at

This is an unusual song and one of my favorites from Goat's Head Soap. It is difficult to classify too. Is it hard rock, a ballad, both, or something else? I counted four melodies or melody variations, and at least three changes in tempo. Yet, it seems to hang together well as a unit. I have never heard a Stones song with so many twists, turns, and surprises as this one. Any thoughts?

I suppose everyone here means well but the advice I am hearing is not sound. Here are some ideas: Never let anyone tell you what Stones song you should like or dislike. You decide;then educate us. Studio songs are almost always better in quality than live versions. Do not listen only to the early Stones. I would listen to the CD's in random order. You will then quickly hear a varie

Someone needs to take a trip on that time machine to 1975 when all the Stones did was perfect and all was right with the world. Or, you could try to open your mind to the many new innovative albums and songs after 1975 and try not to be such a stick-in-the-mud. I would suggest you start with A Bigger Bang and work backward to 1976. I am sure you will like something.

I find Jagger's voice on this song to be too loud, cacophonous, shrill, and shrieking. Turning the volume down does not even help. I liken the singing to the grating noise of a person dragging his finger nails down a chalk board with amplification. I understand that this is Jagger in 2010. Is this correct? Am I the only fan that thinks the singing is really bad? He performs well on the ot

I listened to the Emotional Rescue album the other day. Four of the ten tracks referenced money issues, poor people and rich people, the need and desire for more money, and poverty. These are the tracks and sample lyrics: Emotional Rescue-You're just a poor girl in a rich man's house Dance, Part One-Poor man eyes a rich man, denigrates his property, a rich man eyes a poor man and

I think Ronnie knows there will be a Stones world tour in 2011, and this is his way of getting ready for it. Ronnie will be ready when Mick makes the decision to tour, just as he has always been ready to go. Like Keith, he has an iron constitution. Mick Taylor, as great as he used to be, is sick all or most of the time.

...it is now time to rank them in order from very fine to very lousy. I know this has been done before, but I think it is interesting to find out what everyone's preferences are. One person's gem is another's stinker, so don't worry if you offend another fan, inasmuch as we will never see one another anyway. List as number one the song you like or listen to most, and assign a

I get goose bumps when the slow tempo of Fool to Cry transitions to the jazzy, up tempo portion beginning at 3:25 into the song. Bill Wyman plays the loudest bass note ever, Charlie abruptly plays a different kind of drumming , the wa-wa guitar begins in earnest, and Jagger announces he is a certified fool. Wow. Also, pretty much all of Everything is Turning to Gold.
