It's great to be back! To try making a good return, here's the longest available version of the historic Altamont Speedway Free Concert, headlined by the Rolling Stones. The title of this release is, simply put, '40th Anniversary Special Edition-4 Disc Set.' It contains three audio discs and one DVD, which I will attempt to post soon. The back cover boasts that this Idol Mind

QuoteRockman What is Keith referring to when he says - "just after the bust"? This photo was from the day of the bust either before or after going to the beach. Then he says they all turned in after an early super and then well into the night he heard a great row downstairs. I read that they were all partying, listening to records and they heard the police banging on the door (

Quotewonderboy Quotejlowe I wonder which London residence Keith was living at the time? I think, by 1966 Keith and Mick were no longer 'living together'. He moved into Redlands in April, 1966. I think he mainly only used Redlands on the weekends. I believe he was renting a place in London (maybe at the Hilton Hotel on Park Lane) where he stayed during the week.

QuoteDGA35 I recall reading that the raid occurred only after George left because they couldn't be arresting a Beatle. I wonder what would have happened if George and Patti decided to stay the night? Would the 15-20 police officers just waited in the bushes all night? This is the reported list at Redlands that day: 1. Mick Jagger – singer of the Rolling Stones 2. Keith Richards –

QuoteSilver Dagger Love them but never understood how a band that was so much a part of the counterculture could sell out big time - first as a boogie style rock band and worse, as a lame pop/rock band trying to woo teenyboppersand going for the big buck with dross like We Built This City On Rock'n'Roll and Nothings Gonna Stop Us Now. Are you saying the Airplane sold out or the Jeffer

RIP John Three bass players from King Crimson are now gone. Boz Burrell (also in Bad Co.), Greg Lake and now John Wetton.. Like the curse of the keyboard players in the Grateful Dead, we now have the Bass players from King Crimson!

So does Keith play anything on Moonlight Mile? In 71 Keith said: The only thing in Sticky Fingers I don't have anything to do with is Moonlight Mile, 'cause I wasn't there when they did it. It was great to hear that because I was very out of it by the end of the album and it was like listening, really listening. It was really nice. He also said in 71: I thought I wasn'

QuoteLong John Stoner QuoteHonkeyTonkFlash QuoteMongoose Quotejlowe MOONGOOSE: In view of your earlier comments do you feel Fleetwood Mac should be in the list? Drummer and bass player only remain. Having said that the group's name is an amalgam of their surnames which may count for something! Good point, jlowe, which I would say fits the "exception" rule. Bottom line, thou

Have owned my copy since 79 (first edition) and there is no mention of any other writers except Tony. And he took almost all the photos except a few by Michael Cooper and others. I believe these photos are all by Tony:

I think our very own tribute band is not far behind these guys (a few more gigs, maybe add a back up singer). Amazing what they pulled off without ever playing together before. Anyway check out the Glimmer Twins:

QuoteSilver Dagger Hey The Sicilan - even better than Venus is this great rocker from Shocking Blue. Love it Silver Dagger. Some parts remind me of Grace and the Airplane (guitar sounds a bit like Jorma Kaukonen). Amazing how much music can be missed in ones life time...

Quotecrumbling_mice I'd love to know if people actually got under the stage...it seems from the photo that it was an open fronted structure. Surely when all the fighting kicked off and it was crammed down at the front, some bright soul would have scrambles under and maybe even through to the back stage area. She almost did Still thinking about it
