QuoteGasLightStreet The DVD etc release will feature an overdub as there is no way they'd let that happen, just as they cleaned up one bad riff in Street Fighting Man from the HBO Licks show for the DVD. +1

92. Re: who
My guess: Chris Martin of Coldplay (wife Gwyneth Paltrow). A "singer", he has hits on the radio, "regarded as a respectable family man", "part of a hugely successful rock band". What prize do I win if I'm right? Gwyneth?

Quotesonomastone keith is definitely doing the intro to start me up on purpose. Not sure about that. Hard to tell from the video the people are screaming too much after the first chord.

QuoteNoCode0680 QuoteTornAndFried I found this rare soundboard recording of U2 playing "Magnificent" on David Letterman in 2009 without all the reverb, guitar effects and electronic razzmatazz that you usually hear in the mix when they play live. Perhaps now you can understand why they employ a keyboarist to help flesh out their live sound. I would bet that's fake. Maybe th

Quotemr edward No gig is worth more then 100 EUR. And that's stretching it. Yes, but we (Nth Americans) paid through the roof anyway, and now it's your (Europeans) turn! Sacrifice at the altar of the Rolling Stones, mighty Gods of the Universe.

QuoteGodxofxrock9 Quotesteini It´s a shame and reminds me of Undercover and One Hit, i think Undercover got played in the one or two first show on Urban Jungle and thats it.Undercover was not played on the urban jungle tour it was played on every show on the steel wheels tour and one hit was also played on the same tour about 21 times Yeah, but then Europe got Street Fighting Man.

Quoteab Bad idea. Jagger solo albums tend to suck. Even at their best, every one of them would have been better if they were recorded with the Stones. The best of Wandering Spirit mixed with the best of Voodoo Lounge would have a created a masterpiece.

Quoteab I haven't heard a recording yet, but in the house it was obvious right away that Keith started IORR in the wrong key. Jagger pulled the plug on it, but it took them a bit to get Wood's attention to start it over. Once I get around to making CDs of it, I'll figure out exactly what key he started in instead of B. You're right. but it was Keith himself who signalled

I'd say Let It Bleed is a Keith and Keith album. Virtually no Brian or Taylor.

Quotesonomastone i take it as a tribute to the band that someone can put BTB near the top of their list and 12x5 at the bottom, when i would have done the opposite. I LOVE the first half of 12 X 5. The second mostly sucks and it's sequenced in a way that's really anti-climactic. The Chicago Chess stuff (It's All Over Now, Around and Around, Confessin' the Blues, etc.) so

That I saw, Sympathy in Ottawa in August 2005. What Charlie was hearing in his headset wasn't synchronizing with his drumming or something (or he wasn't hearing properly) and he stopped playing completely several times, and at one point left the stage! Don't know if the rest of the stadium crowd noticed it because the rest of the boys tried their best to keep the show going, but up

Love it. I don't mind Streets of Love, and the lesser tunes for me are Sweet Neocon, Driving Too Fast and Biggest Mistake, but they're still OK. The rest is generally superb. I don't mind the length at all, I think it's part of its charm. Better than the 14-track Voodoo Lounge, which has a weaker second half. They're not in the Tattoo You-Some Girls Class, but ABB and Bab

Mick: Stones to play same set list as in 1969. Do folks here really think they're going to play I'm Yours and I'm Hers, Mercy Mercy and Down Home Girl? (It would be cool if they did.) This would also mean: no TD, no Start Me Up, no Miss You, no Doom and Gloom, no Brown Sugar (!!!). We already know Mick really isn't serious about this as otherwise the Song Vote would

Glad to hear some like She's the Boss. I like some of it, like 1/2 a Loaf, same with Goddess. Primitive Cool was supposed to be a lot more ambitious and "serious" than She's The Boss, but it hasn't aged well. The less often seen 1/2 a Loaf video:

Mick's Wandering Spirit by a long mile - unless you're a jazz fan and then it's Charlie. Of Ronnie's stuff, Gimme Some Neck. Also, it may not be the best but I've always favored 1 2 3 4 for a couple of tracks: Wind Howlin' Through, Fountain of Love. Although you could usually find that album in bins for 1$.
