What would be the point of him doing a solo album when The Stones haven't released an album in eight years?

"Lyin' awake in a cold, cold sweat. Am I overdrawn, am I going in debt?
It gets worse, the older that you get. No escape from the state of confusion I'm in.

Exactly, I'm a big Mick fan but enough good songs have been "wasted" in solo efforts.

A bogus news item floated on a do-it-yourself "press release" website.

Too bad it's fake. With Mick down that path Keith could record and release a new Stones CD...

you people live in the past, that was 20 years ago.

You think Jagger is not going to do a new solo album, or that it is not much much more likely than a new Stones album of new material?

And if he does, it's going to piss Keith off? And then he's going to go out and do his own album? That stuff already happened, 20 years ago. Keith has bigger worries than Jagger's solo projects.

Andrew Loog Oldham said in the recent Q Magazine (the issue with Mick on the cover) that he publicly announced that the Stones would star in a A Clockwork Orange movie. Oldham told Q that—in fact—the film rights for Clockwork had been snapped up by someone else so it was utterly impossible that the Stones would be in it. But the press release alone was good publicity for the Stones (so says Oldham).

Likewise this story probably had its seed in Sharon Holzman's publicist's brain and nowhere else.

I do not think it's fake but ... and I'm happy because I do not need a new album of Mick, and even I do not need a new disc of the Stones! I just need Winos and the album due out next year!

Funny, Mick has faked his way through most of his solo career. . .

i don't care what any of these guys do next. they should do whatever makes them happy. i'm thankful for the good music they gave us, and that they stayed together long enough for me to see them live. when i want to think about the stones, i prefer to put on a record from 30-50 years ago than to keep track of what project who is working on these days. gold rings on 'em all.

Please God no.

Mick, your duty to your Higher Soul is to record with the Rolling Stones.

Bad idea. Jagger solo albums tend to suck. Even at their best, every one of them would have been better if they were recorded with the Stones.

The best of Wandering Spirit mixed with the best of Voodoo Lounge would have a created a masterpiece.

Well, he doesn't seem as desperate as he was when he was using the likes of Rob Thomas as a hired gun.
If he can work with some people that could compliment him better, it might be good.
Maybe some soulful blues with Gary Clark Jr. and John Mayer..
I could get into that.

I've never bought a Mick solo album and I never will.

It's like a betrayal.

It's not the Mick solo album I find bothersome, it's the crazy talk of a world tour to support it beginning the end of 2014.

It's maddening enough to have guest artist intruding in the middle of a concert, but a guest band?

Does he imagine he can command the same concert draw without His Rolling Stones?

Does he think he's so iconic on his own that he's like Elvis Presley?

Sir or peasant, without His Rolling Stones Mick is just Mikey to me.
