Quote24FPS Bottom line is that the best post-Wyman tour is No Security, hands down. And yes, I was there. As I was for VoodooBridgesLicksABiggerBang. This band doesn't compare to the '99 band. It's been a gradual slide since then. Still prefer all of those to Steel Wheels, and I don't see a gradual decline - maybe only in Keith's playing.

QuoteHis Majesty QuoteGazza They were halfway through their performing career too. 1,000th show - 1967 2,000th show - 2006 That is nuts! Yes, but how long were the shows from 62 to 67? (10 to 20 minutes sometimes when they got rioted!) They got longer in 69 but still didn't really get long until 75. Has anyone ever bothered computing their onstage time for each tour? I could be

QuoteDonkey Girl Scout I thought it was great! not the best i've seem (id give that to Baltimore 2006), but it was the best sounding. Louder than expected and you could hear Keith and Ronnie really well. Hurray for A Bigger Bang! That tour is in danger now of being misremembered when actually most of it was great. Granted I haven't seen or heard most of the 07 shows. Just read the re

QuotestonessteinWhen I close my eyes and smell the Rolling Stones and hear their beat running through my blood and veins, it is Live With Me from YaYas, Let It Rock from Leeds, Rocks Off, Shelter, Rip This Joint, or Flash from 72 or that Rambler, HTW or Brown Sugar from Brussels that come to mind. It's not Satisfaction or Last Time from Got Live, just as it is not Start Me Up from Still Lif

QuotestonessteinThe point is that the playing, if not the vibe, of these 2012-2013 shows well exceeds many of the tours now romanticized. Good point about romanticizing previous tours, but let's not over-romanticize this one either. I think it would be inaccurate to say the playing by all has been better than on recent tours - it depends on the show, song, etc., on this tour, and on the pr

Quote24FPS Bill is the most English of all of them isn't he? Interesting that Mick and he did this together. I think they used to have more of a relationship than they do now, obviously. Also, Mick might have felt like rewarding him for being the only stable member of the band at that point. This might have been during Charlie's heroin phase, Ronnie's crackpipe dreams in Hollywood,

Quote71Tele Quotebonddm I don't get all the love for Worried About You.If it was such a good song, why didn't it make the cut on Black and Blue? Because they put crap like Melody and Cherry Oh Baby on it instead. Imagine B&B with Slave and WAY. A much better album, imo... I agree, though I don't think Melody is crap. (Charlie doesn't quite get the reggae beat on Cherry,

QuotestoneheartedI, too, have the "Live In Hawaii" 1966 live set that TimeIs referenced above. Mick was obviously just joking around at that show. He almost turned out to be right. 3 years in the 60s (Aftermath - Let It Bleed, Revolver - Abbey Road) is the equivalent of 30 years of development now.

1 - New STONES album. 2 - Stones continue touring. Preferably mixing stadiums, arenas and theaters (one can dream), with lower prices and less warhorses in the arenas. (No solo albums. Songs wasted, like gotdablouse said.)

Who are the retards who keep voting for Dead Flowers? (Did the same in Montreal.) They play this song every tour, basically. Have a hard time believing that this was the fans' choice that just happened to be the song that they rehearsed with Brad Paisley (which was the obvious song to do with him).

I've said elsewhere after attending this show that I don't think this tour is the best ever. I saw the Stones in 05, early '06 as well, and they were tighter than they are now - contrary to what some folks are saying on here that they are playing better than since Licks, Babylon, Voodoo, etc. I think Keith IS diminished - to a degree. (He needs a little coke or speed to sprite h

For a different angle. Here's part of the review from the French-speaking newspaper La Presse, which I'm translating (as best I can): title Everything We Wanted and More beginning: The Stones might be 50, there's still something of the little insolent bastards in them, that used to sing Get Off of My Cloud and I Can't Get No Satisfaction, the two songs full of testostero

A number of us who were at the concert have already to this inept review on the Montreal show tread. Richards — stooped and slow-moving, looking like Yoda in a fright wig — is clearly more comfortable now with the ragged Chuck Berry riffs he injects into It’s Only Rock ’n’ Roll than with his spotlight introductions to Gimme Shelter and Paint It, Black, both of which he barely managed. Fantastic! That's it! I think the Stones should release every single concert they've ever made on CD and DVD (blu-ray preferable). Like Pearl Jam did a while back with concerts from a tour (?), but in this case every tour, every single show. I demand it!!! p.s. Charlie had that boogaloo beat down pat in '81. Clear proof of rock (& roll)'s greatest drummer. Some Ston
