I've won a bunch of stuff from radio contests, but the best was during the Licks Tour. A radio station had a "name that tune" contest going on all week for Stones tickets, with one "hand selected" out of a hat for a grand prize. The clue played was Brian's congos at the end of Play With Fire. I called in #1 and won the tickets; two great field seats right next to

Leonard, would you be interested in travelling to MSG? After seeing them at the Bowl, just wanted your honest input... Thanks, Bill

I remember my History teacher in 8th grade bitching at me becuase he found me reading a Newsweek article about the Stones at Altamont, labelled "Gimme Shelter." He railed at full volume in the library, "I'll Give YOU Shelter!" Needless to say, Ya Ya's was my first love, but fell head over heals with "Exile on Main Street". I can envision the head shop I

Rockman's got it 110%; The London Years blows my mind away every time I pull it out from the closet. It is always refreshing to hear each and every tune off the collection. OK, Disc 2 is my favourite. You have to listen to this collection to get your head out of the water, so to speak. This collection is the unadulterated Stones at the earliest best! The collection is light years ahea

I saw Bert Richards wandering arouond the field of Giants Stadium at a show back in '94. He seemed to dig the crowd, but doesn't qualify as an opening act...

I'd rather see Keith Richards any friggin day at his age, with the Expensive Winos, or some Rasta based band from Kingston, than see Chuck Berry ~ no less with his band, The Rolling Stones. I saw Chuck headline a show at some club in NYC around "83 (the Ritz?) sowed up way late, way drunk, and did't do much for me. While I listened to his hits, like Sweet Little Sixteen, I was th

Does anyone have the Faces greatest hits collection released about a year ago? Just wondering if it makes for good holiday self-gratification. I've got all of Ronnie's solo stuff, plus all the Faces releases. The collection supposedly had several unreleased Faces tunes. The title of the CD is something like '4 guys pull up to a bar?'

It's no longer funny, it's bigger than money, the Stones don't move you anymore.

Keith obviously respected Mick's talants as a lead guitarist. I happened to be in NYC one cold winter night, on my way to the East Village to see Mick Taylor perform. I stayed for both shows; I guess Bobby Keys playing sax on CYHMK Part II wasn't enough... Anyway, Keith did show up for the 2nd evening show, and played on a few tunes. As I later recall reading, after the show, the

Just what I thought. So it's best to stay in my little personal Stones bubble, and not pay attention to these negative posts. There is a way to get too far into this band, and get un-interested, as happens every now and then over 30+ years. You gotta dig a band when you want to dig a band, regardless of what the press or these posters say. That's what true music appreciation is all

Leonard, only reason I asked, is that I bought a few extra 100 level tickets...I'd rather sell them to a true fan than to a "friend." Enjoy the Hollywood Bowl show! Hey, they fixed the place up nice, huh?

OK, let's all pause and pay our respect to Robert Plant. <thank the Lord for Robert for one minute> Let's all thank God Keith didn't OD, Ronnie didn't kill himself, and Charlie overcame throat cancer. Funny, I often wonder, if you were a Rolling Stone, would you be alive? I certainly would have died many years ago...Everything you want, all the drugs you desired, all

After the crappy threads about the poor live performances, I'm quite bummed out. I bought five tickets for the two upcoming shows at the Garden in January, and the vibes coming from this fan club site leads me to believe I should sell now. I've enjoyed the two shows so far on this tour, and am just dumfounded. The issue is, I've seen the band over 70 times, want to see them

How funny! I often try to justify why the hell I didn't like Led Zep anywhere near the Stones when I was such a young rock fan. I kinda like them more now; or appreciate them more now, than I did during high school. I mean, the gang that listened to LZ were total waste product; whereas I was out there alone listening to the Stones. I mean, after Angie, they thought I was a fag! The w

While digesting the hundreds of threads about how my favourite band for the past 35 years suck during their recent outing, I've been listening to lots of Led Zep, and other bands. Believe me, I've listened to ABB 50 times, and its a good album. The question remains, is it that Robert Plant is a better rock singer than Mick Jagger; or that the Led Zep ensemble was stronger than the

I actually dug sitting next to a totally drunk, stoned guy at the last MSG show! It was great; he shared his pot with everyone around him, and didn't spill anything. This guy was so wasted he couldn't tell if Roger Waters or Keith Richards was up on stage. But by the third song, NYC's blue boys actually came to his seat, and escorted him out of the arena. Scarry, for sure, but

Turn what seems bad to you into good. You obviously have great personal skills. Use these abilities and skills you have in forming friendships and use them on a more personal level ~ face to face. Go out and live life to it's fullest, and have faith in your fellow mankind! Have you been a Stones fan long?

Replace MISS YOU with something like LITTLE QUEENIE, or another Chuck Berry inspired song, and just improvise all the way out to the main stage. If I want to hear another version of MY; I''' put on one of my three releases from '78 - album, radio edit, and extended!

The guitar work reflects a bit of "Get Up, Stand Up," doesn't it? I mean, Keith's just an attena; grabbing riffs from the sky (or the CD player). Funny they do that cover over DB.

I enjoyed the album the day it came out. In hindsight, to release "Angie" as the first single may have been a mistake. I would have loved to see "Angie" go 2nd behind "Heartbreaker" or "Star Star" for that matter. All my high school buddies thought the band was through, releasing such a ballad while rock was still pretty hot... Loved the Don Kirshner

Listen, yesterday they were forcasting the worst hurricane in Stones history to hit Florida. The tour guides probably just recommended taking a flight out of town after the show, rather than deal with the BS of a toughened flight schedule leaving Tampa on Thursday. Give the guys a break!!!
