I have the Blu Ray DVD of SAL & as I don't have a home theatre, I played it first on the PCM stereo track thru my hi-fi; I can hear a lot of distortion on the guitars & bass, as if it's been over-recorded. Everything sounds clean on the The 5.1 audio tracks and the sountrack CD. Has anbody else noticed this problem on their blu-ray or standard DVD copies?

There's nothing remotely 'embarassing' about the cockup in SMU. This sort of thing - & the way they came out of it is pretty characteristic of latter-day live Stones and adds to the excitement to some extent IMO. What about the great time in 2005 (is it Philadelphia?) where Mick sings Satisfaction while the band is playing IORR (or is it vice versa) - Hilarious, and not painfu

How does the re-mix of Charmed Life (available exclusively on i-Tunes, I believe) compare with the version from the best of Mick album?

Little Walter is fantastic; everything he recorded from 1955-59 is brilliant IMO & anyone who's into early Stones should check out his stuff - Wonderful!

I ordered last week Caiman - A US-based seller on Amazon - for £10.25 + p&P & they sent it the following day. I'm in the UK so I expect it will arrive imminently

I think its the erratic editing rather than the overdubs that's a pain in the bum on the Austin show. You get loads of long shots of the backing singers (who appear to be totally in sync, BTW) but hardly ever see close-ups of Mick singing into the mike (for obvious reasons). I don't mind that (hopefully) Keith re-did his solo during ATBTP, but the editors left that shot of him playing

Musically? Can't Be Satisfied, Ain't Too Proud, Bob Wills, Get Up, Stand Up & Mr Pitiful. Visually? That Chinese girl sitting on someone's shoulders, who sticks out her tongue in the middle of Bitch on the Salt of the Earth documentary.

Was Four Flicks promoted in a regular fashion? Given that it was only available in Best Buy for ages, I'm not sure it was.

OK, I'll try again - does anybody know if The Lost Brussells (VGP 088) is sourced from a broadcast or pre-FM reels? Thanks in advance

The Lost Brussels (VGP 088) sounds a bit different from most of the other boots I've heard of this show - more bottom & not as bright overall, but the drums sound softer & more natural to me. Does anybody know whether this one is sourced from a broadcast or from pre-FM tapes?

The existing Virgin editions of the Stones catalog from Sticky Fingers up to Steel Wheels are all remasters from the mid-to-late '90s. Sticky Fingers through to Emotional Rescue are the same remasters as the limited edition paper sleeve ones, but they just come in standard jewel cases. The sound is a vast improvement on their crappy Columbia predecessors IMO.

Perhaps Wolfgang's Vault have misinformed us about the locations & it's not all from Detroit after all: Have you heard Mick's banter after Sweet Little 16? Sounds to me like he's shouting 'Awright! Awright...Awright Houston'(with the emphasis on '-ston'.

Beelyboy, have you checked out the classic photo of Marc Bolan (taken by Ringo Starr) on the cover of T.Rex's Slider album from 1972. Wonder if Slash took his visual inspiration from here.

Mathijs, How did you figure out which songs he used this guitar on in Baton Rouge? I can understood YCAGWY, from the capo position, (I thought this was done in standard tuning with the capo at the third fret). And wasn't happy always played on a 5-string, capoed at the 4th, as was IORR & JJF in the same position? What about Rocks Off - isn't that standard tuning with no capo? See
