Really Shawn? Where have you seen Gibson ES-355's for $2K? Every where I have looked I've seen one less than $3500. I would love to find one at that price!

I see what you mean, withsssoul and I think you have definitively nailed where and when the photo was taken. Danke. Now the last piece of the puzzle? Who was the photographer?

I thought at first it could have been Nicaraguan benefit but the video link below shows Keith wearing a different shirt. Keith could could have done a costume change or there was more than one show but neither seems likely as Keith isn't known for that and there was only one show for Nicaragua (that I know of) Nicaragua Benefit Show

I have had this autographed picture of Keith Richards for some years now and I'm curious to know exactly when, where and by whom this photo was taken. It looks to be from one of the Honolulu, Hawaii shows from January 1973 but I'm not sure which show and who the photographer was. I've tried google image and a few other avenues but so far have not come up with anything. Can anyone s

The title of "Greatest Rock and Roll Band in the World" is really a subjective and personal choice. To some it's the Stones no matter what. But ask any number of others their choice and you are likely to get a variety of answers. Whatever moves you is what really matters, in my view at least.

A sweetheart of a guy. I've been listening to his work and viewing the Hampton '81 DVD and saw both Bobby and Mac playing with the band. The heart strings were properly tugged. Thanks guys. for all of it....

I was able to find all my Stones purchases on Google Play by selecting the path Music/My Music/My Library/Rolling Stones. Google Play appears to have changed their UI and not for the better I think.

"..these two have arguably been trying to kill themselves for years." Could you expound on that statement Naturalust? I don't think that was either Keith's or Ronnie's intention or that of most addicts.

While in line to enter Candlestick Park for the Stones 17 October, 1981 gig I was handed a short comic book offering advice to Stones concert "virgins", so to speak. I took one and 34 years on I have no idea where it is. I think it was created by a local San Francisco artist but I'm absolutely certain on that point. Anyway, it would have been a perfect addition to this thread. Does

Hi schillid. Yes, I did not fail to see the ? I was just curious what your criteria was for the "best living musician", hyperbole notwithstanding. Apologies for not having stated more clearly.

Ah man, sorry to hear that many fans will not have the opportunity to see the band on this tour and perhaps ever.

Damn good thing Keith didn't fully connect. A Telecaster is sturdy piece of wood and would packed a potentially lethal wallop. Still, Keith had no idea what the kid's intentions were and given what had happened to John Lennon he was well within his rights. Now, as to the original question which no one seems to have answered, just was who was that kid Keith almost decked with his guitar?

Hmmm, the best living musician? That's a fairly bold statement. By what measure should she be so labeled in your opinion schillid?

Big fan of Johnny Marr. I saw him twice last year at the Fillmore in San Francisco and will be catching him this December at the Independent. I have seen him with every one of his bands except the Smiths. He may not be a flash player but he doesn't need to be. As Big Al said, he creates great soundscapes and melodies. Brilliant, at least to me. Bastion, what a great experience! Thanks for

I'm very fond of this track. Like a few I had thought the rhythm guitar was Keith and was surprised to learn some years back it actually Mick Jagger (and on "Sway" too!) What really make the track for me is the Mick Taylor's slide guitar; hauntingly beautiful stuff...

The coda that concluded "Dirty Work" was a lovely bit of playing by Stu. The problem was it was too short and left me wanting to hear more of just the man and his piano.

Following up on what DandlionPowedrman wrote, in my view "Honky Tonk Women" practically redefined the Rolling Stones sound and showcased what was to become Keith's signature and unique rhythmic phrasing in a way no other recording before it had done. The song's release I believe also marks Keith's first use of the now fabled open G tuning that was used on so many of the S

Thanks MingSubu. Mind you it was along time ago but I seem to remember it was a Newman Jones guitar with a maple fretboard with very similar inlays pictured here.

I've been trying to find a pic of a guitar that Ted Newman Jones built for Ronnie Wood. Specifically, the guitar had inlays of Woody Woodpecker on the fretboard. I recall seeing it in a guitar magazine years ago but can't find here or the internet via search using a variety of search criteria but so far no joy. Would anyone have a scan you could share?

I haven't seen the video where Mick busted a string but as the owner of Bigsby equipped Les Paul I can certainly verify that if a string breaks then the guitar will go out of tune. Strange though no one handed Mick a spare...

I love rock and roll, classical music and just about everything in between. Music in general just makes me feel good and so I never thought of it in childish terms. A good performance of Stones song can knock me out just as much as a Mozart string quartet. I love listening to music, I love playing it. From the simplist three chord rock song to complex finger picking arangements. It's good fo
