BELOW IS AN INDEX OF ALL THE DSP MIX/REMASTERS I'VE POSTED THROUGHOUT THIS THREAD.

- All posts are in FLAC format unless otherwise noted.

- As I post new stuff, I'll try to add notes on the last page of the thread, so you don't have to examine the index and try to figure out what's new.

- Also note that if the artwork isn't included in the archive, you'll have to get it from the original post in this thread.

12 Loving Cup (2003.03.12 Yokohama Arena, Japan)
13 Midnight Rambler (2005.10.01 Hershey, PA)

This is a multi-DSP mix of the concert at Dubendorf Airfield, Zurich, Switzerland on 05AUG2006. The source is the "Swiss Made" [WLR 2012] boot, minus the Chris Jagger/Mick Taylor bonus track, with some bonus tracks added to flesh out the second disc.

The mix was generated using Multiple DSP v1.6 with the following DSP's enaged (in order):

1. You-Wa Shock (to equalize & amplify)
2. Isotope Ozone (to widen the stereo and add ambience)

The fantastic version of "Streets Of Love" is what drew me to this show.

Also, some of the filler tracks I use can seem random or even taboo (mixing different tours), but I always stick 'em at the end so they can be deleted or replaced easily.

And let me know if the artwork I rolled into this post is unacceptable. I've heretofore used these mixes for personal use only and never worried about copyright infringements. If you alter an unauthorized bootleg's artwork, is it an infringement? Can someone advise?

Is Hershey taken from my master recording?

I doubt it. I used a seed I got 3 years ago off Usenext.

I'd never knowingly use yours or anyone's master without giving credit (FYI)

Not asking because of a credit, but because what´s the difference to my master.
I seede my Hershey,Washington and Helsinki(ABB shows) on Rocks off tracker back then. Some of them was after that seeded on Dime i guess, and last september i uploaded them here as well.

Re: LAUGHINGSAM'S MULTI-DSP-MIXES & REMASTERS

The difference is the digital sound processors (DSPs) through which the original files have been filtered to produce a separate and new wave file. Then the wave file gets evaluated in Goldwave (I use v5.58) and is either retained or deleted. The files I retain get converted back from wave to mp3@320 for storage and use.

Here's the original file I used for the Hershey file above:

Paint It Black (2005.10.01 Hershey)

Here's the file that was produced by filtering the original through the DSP process:

Paint It Black (2005.10.01 Hershey)

You can hear the difference, but open it in whichever wave editor you use to do your remasters and observe the difference. The file has been compressed with a multiband compressor/limiter. It's had tube amplifiers and limiters applied using a flat frequency response. The stereo has also been widened and there's a soft ambiance to the new file because it was run through Isotope's room simulator. You can observe these things parametrically, in your wave editor. If you're interested in the exact settings I used in each of the DSP's, I can talk to you off line about it. PM me.

And thanks for your Remasters Marko, I do enjoy them a lot!

If you're talking about a vibratory merge of different sources, then the answer is "yes" I've thought about it and "no" I don't think I have the time or patience for it. I tried it in the past with multiple tape sources and ran into nightmarish synch issues...I mean there were speed fluctuations in random spots that made it such that each time I thought everything was in synch, it would end up having to be readjusted to the point where I gave up. I've heard some of the merges and matrix mixes out there and give CRAZY credit to the people who produce them.

I've merged different versions of the same source though. I ran 1970.09.30 Frankfurt, 2nd show -- which is a mono-sourced tape -- through 2 digital sound processors, each time writing it out to a 1-track (mono) wave file. Then I took the 2 mono files and mixed them into a 2-channel wave, leaving a slight delay in 1 of the channels. The result was a simulated stereo sound that I'm not sure about it...I know it's better than the mono source that I started with, but I jacked it up enough to where I'll probably try it again some day because I really like that Frankfurt show a lot and want to get it sounding the best it possibly can.

1976.06.06 Les Abattoirs, Pavillion de Paris, FRA [multi-DSP remaster]

This is a remaster of well known bootleg - "Paris Aux Primtemps" [TSP-126].

Disk 1

1. Honky Tonk Women
2. If You Can't Rock Me/Get Off My Cloud
3. Hand of Fate
4. Hey Negrita
5. Ain't Too Proud to Beg
6. Fool To Cry
7. Hot Stuff
8. Star Star
9. Angie
10. You Gotta Move
11. You Can't Always Get What You Want

Disk 2

1. Happy
2. Tumbling Dice
3. Nothing From Nothing (Billy Preston)
4. Outta Space (Billy Preston)
5. Midnight Rambler
6. It's Only Rock 'n Roll
7. Brown Sugar
8. Jumping Jack Flash
9. Street Fighting Man
10. Cherry Oh Baby (June 7)

The date on the original bootleg was incorrectly listed as June 4 on artwork. It's a mix of audience & soundboard recording. Very good sound, excellent performance. This is the same show as "French Made" [VGP-258].

This mix was mastered with Isotope Ozone, Tape Restore Live! v1.0 and Audioproc v1.82.

Link Removed (see below)

artwork is included.

UPDATE:

1976.06.06 Les Abattoirs, Pavillion de Paris, FRA

Remaster of VGP-258.

Disk 1

1. Honky Tonk Women
2. If You Can't Rock Me/Get Off My Cloud
3. Hand of Fate
4. Hey Negrita
5. Ain't Too Proud to Beg
6. Fool To Cry
7. Hot Stuff
8. Star Star
9. Angie
10. You Gotta Move
11. You Can't Always Get What You Want

Disk 2

1, Band Intros
2. Happy
3. Tumbling Dice
4. Nothing From Nothing (Billy Preston)
5. Outta Space (Billy Preston)
6. Midnight Rambler
7. It's Only Rock 'n Roll
8. Brown Sugar
9. Jumping Jack Flash
10. Street Fighting Man
11. Cherry Oh Baby (June 7)

This is an improvement from the TSP-126 Remaster above.

24-bit dithering and Izotope's "Intelligent II" limiting module contains
the loudness overload on the source tape much more effectively than the
previously posted TSP version.

1973.09.30 Festhalle, Frankfurt, 2nd show [DSP-mix]

This is the remastering "Guten Abend Frankfurt" CD2 [VGP-266] I mentioned above.

01 Brown Sugar
02 Gimme Shelter
03 Happy
04 Tumbling Dice
05 Star Star
06 Dancing With Mr D
07 Angie
08 You Can't Always Get What You Want
09 Midnight Rambler
10 Honky Tonk Women
11 All Down The Line
12 Rip This Joint
13 Jumpin' Jack Flash
14 Street Fighting Man

notes:

The left channel is [VGP-266] mixed into 2 tracks with Audioproc, then mixed down to one.

The right channel is [VGP-266] mixed into 2 tracks with isotope, then mixed down to one.

Obvious flaw:

The right channel has a 500ms delay in the tube limiter, which is far too much and makes the music sound duller than it should. I was more ambitious than I needed to be in my quest for creating a stereo sound and ended up taking some punch out of the sound, which is probably why I'll redo it some day.

1970.09.30 2nd show [DSP-mix]

artwork NOT included, sorry.

1973.09.30 Festhalle, Frankfurt, 2nd show [DSP-mix]

This is the remastering "Guten Abend Frankfurt" CD2 [VGP-266] I mentioned above.

01 Brown Sugar
02 Gimme Shelter
03 Happy
04 Tumbling Dice
05 Star Star
06 Dancing With Mr D
07 Angie
08 You Can't Always Get What You Want
09 Midnight Rambler
10 Honky Tonk Women
11 All Down The Line
12 Rip This Joint
13 Jumpin' Jack Flash
14 Street Fighting Man

notes:

The left channel is [VGP-266] mixed into 2 tracks with Audioproc, then mixed down to one.

The right channel is [VGP-266] mixed into 2 tracks with isotope, then mixed down to one.

Obvious flaw:

The right channel has a 500ms delay in the tube limiter, which is far too much and makes the music sound duller than it should. I was more ambitious than I needed to be in my quest for creating a stereo sound and ended up taking some punch out of the sound, which is probably why I'll redo it some day.

1970.09.30 2nd show [DSP-mix]

artwork NOT included, sorry.

I never saved this one in FLAC, just mp3@320. I'll tell you what though, I'll save it in FLAC when I redo it.

I'd like to hear your stereo merge of SFM. Can or have you posted it?

Outstanding! You got them synched perfectly. It's definitely an upgrade over the source I have (left channel source).

I'll give them a listen. Do you know of any major problems with them -- i.e., dropouts, digital noise or fluctuations?

I can't find these 2. I searched here and @ Hungercity. You uploaded Helsinki last Sept, but the link is now dead.
