I believe this will be remain quite unique thread in the history of IORR. Seemingly BV lets the people get their ya-ya's out - it is therapeutical to let all the bad blood out of the veins sometimes... and this exactly what is going on here right now. So let us enjoy while it lasts! It will be soon over - and hopely never come back.

Cool subjects such as politics and religion, the racist cards thrown...classical stuff. This thread rocks!smoking smiley

Do we, as americans, feel so damn guilty at what we've been doing to these countries all these years that we needed to prove just how much against it we are by electing one to office??!!"

Thats not in any way racist?

Well that clears that up. I didn't catch that. Eh, Voodoo? I dunno if that's racist in the classic sense but it is a very loaded statement with the intent being, loosely put, that he is of terrorist material because he's supposedly muslim.

I've never understood people who say they are this or that. Go live in those countries or where those types are if you really are that. Of course, then you have athletes that do it and change their name, although what's 'is name, Cinco Cinco or somebody - what a joke. I don't know anyone that wants to go live in a dry sandy hot rock barren environment like that. So they aren't really what they are in that sense - they aren't truly living it. A lot of people throw that kind of crap around as if they were marshmellows, feeding them to alligators - not good for the alligators and a bad idea in general.

Well, I had mixed emotions (like that one!)

I of course did not want a left wing, terrorist- and racist-embracing, tax-us-to-hell person elected.

BUT...we DID want his poor wife to be happy and proud for the first time ever, now didn't we!

Well said, ablett...

Christ, some people

What do they think he's going to do? Invite every terrorist into the USA to have a free for all and bomb the crap out of everywhere.

You ignorant bastards. Just because he has a 'muslim background' immediately makes him a terrorist does it?

I have many Muslim friends and they are, of course, amongst the kindest, loyal friends i have and they love their country as much as anyone - including (i know, you're gonna love this...its mental) despising terrorism in all its forms.

I can see it now, the next Stones concert video will be hosted by rock star Obama. Mick's probably already made friends with the guy. And are his ears bigger than Keith's or what?

I reiterate.....it's MULTIPLE UNANSWERED QUESTIONS.........his muslim background, his KNOWN backing by Palestinians (a known terrorist organization), the association with Ayers.....I would like to know just how exactly he did indeed such vast amounts of cash from around the world - why did he need to set up shop around the world?! Not just for the Americans abroad, but less American-friendly groups to give him the wherewith all to succeed as well no doubt.

Don't get me wrong - I sit on very mixed emotions with the whole thing too. The fact that we can come so far in our country since the race riots and even since 9/11, and if it was anyone else, I'd be overjoyed, but SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much about this guy just leaves me less than assured of our future.

I'm also not implying that all muslims are bad just cuz they're muslim, anymore than I'd say that all blacks are bad cuz they are the ones plaster all over the news and that all whites are good - there is good and bad everywhere you look. In all countries, in all cities and suburbs, and in all races. The goal in life is to find the good in everyone.

Well it seems to some people that being a muslim automatically makes you a terrorist. And whatever else; being a priest automatically makes you a child molester - not, oddly enough, gay, since what all I've ever heard has had to do with strictly little boys, but just a child molester.

Which, let me see if I can spin this right - since aslecs is in that school I think that makes him a retard. Is that a good way to look at it?

It seems The Negativos don't want to be bothered checking the validity of their assertions and it certainly shows zero respect to the Rolling Stones to keep this hate-mongering going in a forum devoted to them.

It also shows a disturbing lack of respect for BV who has long endeavored to make this a special place.

We have enough wars in this world where blood is shed and human beings killed. Please, Negativos, give it a rest.

It wasn't meant to be talked about specifically, it was just an example.

For example, how you and aslecs are just the usual flag waving kind. Real patriots. Do you know the extend of Obama's "relatonship" with Ayers? Just as with Palin, you're jumping off of a very tall bridge into 1 foot of water.

Here is a quote and the link to the entire article. Notice he says 'served together', not 'hung out'. 'Knowing' your neighbor is as simple as knowing the cashier at your local gorcery. I love how you flag wavers take that kind of thing and explode it in a Disenyesque beautiful picture of danger:

"During the primary, the blogosphere was full of chatter about my relationship with President-elect Barack Obama. We had served together on the board of the Woods Foundation and knew one another as neighbors in Chicago’s Hyde Park. In 2001, at a coffee gathering that my wife, Bernardine Dohrn, and I held for him, I made a $200 donation to his campaign for the Illinois State Senate.

"Obama’s political rivals and enemies thought they saw an opportunity to deepen a dishonest perception that he is somehow un-American, alien, linked to radical ideas, a closet terrorist who sympathizes with extremism—and they pounced."

Re: OT: Barack Obama elected president of the USA

Just stop talking about Ayers, OK? It's a stupid avenue to pursue. What Ayers did while President-elect Obama was 8 years old has no bearing on President-elect Obama himself. Do you know where they met? They were both part of the Chicago Annenberg Challenge. Do you know who funded the CAC? Walter Annenberg. Any idea who Walter Annenberg was? Here's a hint:

Yeah, he and Reagan were good buddies.

I'm sure Mr Annenberg & former President Reagan would be surprised to learn that they funded terrorists. I also don't suppose the president of Northwestern, the President of the University of Illinois, the VP of Ameritech, & the Managing Director of Chase Franklin Corp* really have "the man" quaking in his tassel loafers. Not quite the radical association you'd like to paint it as. NIce try though.

*who were all CAC board members.

..also, did you see how quickly McCain stopped pursuing that Palestinian scholar angle? Y'know why? Because McCain gave this so-called "radical" hundreds of thousands of dollars to start a Palestinian school. How ya like me now?

the International Republican Institute, which McCain has long chaired, donated hundreds of thousands of dollars to a Palestinian research organization in the 1990s that the same scholar, Rashid Khalidi, helped found.

[wvgazette.com]

the International Republican Institute, which McCain has long chaired, donated hundreds of thousands of dollars to a Palestinian research organization in the 1990s that Khalidi helped found.

The Huffington Post first posted tax returns showing donations from IRI under McCain's leadership in the 1990s to Khalidi's group, Center for Palestine Research and Studies.

...and I'm sure you'll say the Huffington Post falsified McCain's tax returns.

Finally, I'll see your Reverend Wright and raise you a Pastor Muthee & a Wasilla Assembly of God, ya racist morons.

Governor Palin's Pastor prays for election victory, condemns women as witches, and so on, and so on:

The good Pastor also says, that Christians should take over the economy (currently run by "Israelites")

"God wants us, wants to penetrate in our society, is in the economic area," Muthee says. "The Bible says that the wealth of the wicked is stored up for the righteous. It's high time that we have top Christian businessmen, businesswomen, bankers, you know, who are men and women of integrity, running the economics of our nations. That's what we are waiting for. That's part and parcel of transformation. If you look at the -- you know -- if you look at the Israelites, that's how they work. And that's how they are, even today."

[blogs.abcnews.com]

Governor Palin continues to endorse anti-Semitism with her silence, when this clown comes to church:

a few weeks ago, Palin sat in her Alaska church as her minister glowingly introduced the head of Jews for Jesus, a group of mostly evangelical Christians who aim to convert Jews to Christianity. In the talk, group Executive Director David Brickner blamed Middle East violence in part on Israeli Jews who didn't accept Jesus.*

Brickner also described terrorist attacks on Israelis as God's "judgment of unbelief" of Jews who haven't embraced Christianity.

"Judgment is very real and we see it played out on the pages of the newspapers and on the television. It's very real. When [Brickner's son] was in Jerusalem he was there to witness some of that judgment, some of that conflict, when a Palestinian from East Jerusalem took a bulldozer and went plowing through a score of cars, killing numbers of people. Judgment — you can't miss it." **

* [voices.washingtonpost.com]

** [www.politico.com]

Governor Palin's church thinks you can and should "pray away the gay":

"You'll be encouraged by the power of God's love and His desire to transform the lives of those impacted by homosexuality," according to the insert in the bulletin of the Wasilla Bible Church, where Palin has prayed for about six years.

So, to sum up on Governor Palin: crazy, blaspheming preacher, hates Jewish people, hates homosexuals.

...oh, and she prays for pipelines to be built.

I know I wrote "finally" before my info on Palin's loony "church", but I also have to add, regarding the stupid "fake birth certificate" comment:

Even dingbat convention WorldNews Daily - who initially "broke" the lie - have admitted the claim was false:

[mediamatters.org]

Here's a picture of the Birth Certificate:

Here are another 5 media outlets/watchdogs disproving this ridiculous claim:

[latimesblogs.latimes.com]

Here's a blow-up of the birth certificate #, in case you want to do some independent sleuthing of your own:

Did you see "intrepid journalist" Molotov Mike's video on YouTube? Is that your source? Pardon me, but my confidence in the veracity of a claim made by "nohussein.org" is minimal.

I think the sources and evidence listed above should be sufficient to disprove "Molotov Mike", or whatever other lunatic you got your "fake birth certificate theory" from.

I won't even address the "he's a Muslim" angle because, first of all, it's not true, and second of all, so what if it were? The only people that would care are pants-wetting cowards and racists.

Re: OT: Barack Obama elected president of the USA

Hey I would never stand up to defend any assembly of God church - I was forced to go to one for 12 years - I know the kind of crazy fin nutjobs there are there.

Perhaps I should explain myself more...I do consider myself a democrat, although the last 2 elections I've voted Rep. because it's more the person than the party to me and they're mostly all just stand-ins like the queen for work that is really done by others in my book (although dubya will leave Obama with a shload of power never before exercised by a President).

As a party, the dems make the most sense philosophically - helpin out the poor, universal healthcare, equal rights, etc etc, but morally speaking I cannot agree with them (I, like Palin, am anti-abortion, but NOT anti-abortion rights). I think it's murder to kill a fetus and the kinds of abortions that Obama wants to allow are downright heinous, but if women want to have that option then they can live with it on their conscious. My wife and I came very close to aborting our daughter when we found out my wife was pregnant - wrong time and place but we kept her and I love her dearly. Since that time when my wife all but scheduled the appointment, I've fully changed what had been a very pro-abortion stance. Simply because of that one near encounter.
Similarly, I used to support gays to the ends of the world, until I read the Bible for myself and saw just how much destruction came from such acts, and I can no longer support that either, although I don't walk around saying they're wrong and haven't disassociated myself from all my gay friends. It is a vastly accepted highly condemned behavior, one that this country will one day suffer for greatly. I have no doubt of that.
So morally, I side with the Republicans, who ethics are deplorable, with all their looking out for the corporations of this world and letting the rich get richer.
So I guess I'm somewhat of a right leaning democrat. Definitely a Clinton Democrat.

And I hate being called a racist - I would have voted for Powell and maybe Rice in a heartbeat. This is the thing that I've already come to hate about Obama's election. One cannot even say a criticism without it being labeled as a fin racist comment. To me that is BS.

Oh no Beast, now look what you've done... you're gonna go and confuse the kids with correct information and proper facts. This is really gonna mess up their minds since that's a foreign concept in their world of goofy propaganda and lunatic radio talk show hosts .... I'm crestfallen..... Kids, kids, kids, please don't listen, stay in your alternative universe bubble, it's much more fun for us know nothing zombie's back here on Planet Earth....

GHOST, notice something about OBAMA'S birthday? 8/4/1961 ? OK, take the 8 then subtract the 4 to get 4. Then take the 1 from 1961 and add it to the 4. that equals 5, then add the other 1 from 1961. 4+1+1 = 6, right? Now flip the 9 in 1961 and you get? 6, see where I'm going here? now the third number is a 6 so what have we got here? Why, I think we have the number 666 which means what? Is OBAMA the anti-christ? You tell me, something smells very fishy here... I ain't pointin' fingers but, it's pretty spooky IMHO....
