The band will play Indigo02 – the scene of this year's Shockwaves NME Awards – on December 14 and 15.

Tickets for the shows are only available to fanclub members via Thewho.com from 11am next Friday (October 24)

The tickets will be individually coded to fans buying the tickets to prevent touting.

Ooooh....

You might have to scrape me off the floor at the end of the tour, but it'll be really good scrapings. - Mick Jagger

It's where Prince did his aftershow things when he did his 21 date run at the O2. For anyone that's been to the O2, it's in the front door and turn right. It's about the size of a small movie theatre, all standing downstairs and a single balcony with seats upstairs. The balcony overhangs and comes quite far forward, so if you're at or near the front of it, you've got an absolutely corking view of the stage. Great venue for the right artist. And THE WHO are without doubt THE RIGHT ARTISTS for that place. This would be a gig not to miss, seriously folks. I saw them at the Shepherds Bush Empire both nights at the end of 1999, that was a spectacle and a half to behold, but to see them in the even smaller confines of the Indigo at the O2 ... if you love this band ... BE THERE !! You won't regret it.

Gotta be worth trying - would be a great venue to see them, the Watford Colosseum, 6 years ago, is the smallest venue I have seen them so far. Good luck everyone!

Would absolutely LOVE to be there!!

I've never seen them before and this seems like the perfect place...

However, as I'm not a member of the fanclub, I'd like to quote Robert De Niro and Joe Pesci in 'Casino':

"So I'm f*cked then...?"

"Yeah, in so many words, you're f*cked..."

Any ideas?? Is it possible to join up now?

Hi MOWAT,

I was at that show too...so I'll use this as a lame opportunity to post some iffy photos,heh-heh-heh...

Dateline January 2002 when I first started using Ebay:more accurately the first and only time I've been ripped-off by someone else on it.
The Who (still with Ents on board) had announced three warm-up shows prior to their appearance at the RAH for the TCT:two at Portsmouth Guildhall and one at The Watford Coliseum. No,I didn't know there was one there either.

However buying tickets was mission impossible and then some,so I resorted to the mighty Ebay. You can fill-in the blanks for yourselves...I sent off a cheque to some kindly soul in deepest, darkest Wythenshawe (an interesting spot in South Manchester) and waited patiently for my Watford tickets to arrive.

Time marches on rapidly and in the meantime I'm lucky to get a single ticket that somebody returned for the second Pompey show which was unreal.Hurrah.Back home the next day and still no ticket and now no answer from this chap's phone either.Helpless with self-righteous indignation and £110 lighter to boot.@#$%&!

As a last ditch measure I ring the Coliseum's box-office and ask in a resigned fashion if he's got any returns.Bloke asks me where I'd like to sit:I stammer anywhere,as near as possible, just inside the building please.Bloke asks if stalls row A would do!I think I may have offered to pay the guys mortgage or similar such was my disbelief and joy.I don't dance round the house shouting as a rule,but...

Don't worry,we are getting to the point-slowly.The show was another blinder and the last time I saw the band with John.Audience-wise I've never been as close to PT as I was that Thursday night and I can still remember being surprised at just how physical that band was...JAE couldn't have played any faster,Zak really emptied the drums,Rog was ready to jump in to the crowd if the occasion demanded it and Pete Townshend was in another place at times.

Whenever he broke a string on his Stratocaster he shot his right-hand up instantly to let Alan Rogan know to hand over a freshly laundered red one. This happened on a few occasions and it was then that I noticed that there was blood all over the guitar's pickguard. It didn't stop or slow him down:in fact I'm not even sure it registered with him very much.Remarkable.

Anyway,I involved the police to try and sort the defrauding tool out.Surprise, surprise he had a history of nuisance crime and had recently cottoned-on to the possiblities offered to the unscrupulous by Ebay. They eventually refunded me almost all of my money too.Yeah,I was as surprised as you!

I can't help myself here-it is photo time from the pre-digital era.Always with the excuses!

If the O2 shows are half-as-fiery etc. etc....mind you,we've got to get in first!

Cheers,

Si

Mr J ... really !!

You need your bum kicked my good man. Joining the fanclub is as easy as going to the who website and paying your USD$ 50.00. GET ON WITH IT for goodness sake ... an' we'll see ya there !!

Hi SimonN, the Watford show was indeed fun, I have a couple of photos of dubious non-digital quality myself which I will look for and see if they merit posting.

Meanwhile, an update on ticket info for the Indigo2 shows.....

Tickets go on sale this friday, 24th October at 1100am to fanclub members. £75.00 for Kings Row and £45.00 for Balcony seating or Floor standing. Purchase and entrance to the shows will have some enforced restrictions - namely passcodes for purchase, a strict two ticket per person limit (across both shows!) and to gain entry the original purchaser must show the original credit card and photo i.d.

Good luck all Whooligans.....

Just found out that their fan club only costs £50 to join (much cheaper than the Stones) and you get a great sounding double CD of live stuff from 69-76 plus a groovy looking t-shirt plus other stuff.

Although there's no guarantee of getting a ticket I'm going to go for it so hope to see you cats down there. Any other of our UK or indeed other IORR's planning to go to see The Who here. I'm going to try and get tickets for the second night so hopefully we can meet up for a beer beforehand.

Hi SD,

Isn't that $50,not Sterling?

The live double CD is fantastic...the T-shirt less so!

Good luck to everyone trying for a ticket-maybe meet-up for a beer.

Cheers,

Si.
