As a German, it makes me happy that our team seems to have recovered after not having played well so far. Anyway, may the best team win!
Sad to read that Turkish player Servet is injured and won't be able to play tomorrow. I think he did play very well in the other matches.

Come on ... be honest ... we lost at penalties at the 1990 world cup, we lost at penalties at the 1994 world cup, we lost at penalties at the 1998 world cup, we lost with a golden goal at the 2000 European games, we lost at the 2002 world cup because of a bribed referee, we were out of the 2004 European games because Sweden and Denmark did the exact required final score to get us out of the cup.
Finally we managed to win in Germany by annihilating Germany in the semi-final, came back in the final after a penalty agains us at the very beginning of the game, so we can't really say we're a lucky team.
The fact that we almost always end up in the final part of every single tournament means being consistent, can we say the same about Spain?

Phew...great match by both teams. Sadly, a very good team like Portugal is out of the tournament now. I think that Germany deserved to win, although it was a foul by Ballack before the third goal.
For me, Schweinsteiger is the man of the match.
Nerve-wrecking match indeed. I hope the other quarter finals are as good.

Sad news for Dutch player Khalid Boulahrouz:
Khalid Boulahrouz has told Netherlands coach Marco van Basten he is available to play in Saturday's UEFA EURO 2008™ quarter-final against Russia despite the death of his baby daughter, who was born prematurely on Wednesday.
Comment from Dutch coach Marco van Basten:
"I understand that it is really hard for Khalid and we will have to support him as best we can," said Van Basten. "Still, our focus has to be on Russia and that is what Khalid also wants." The 26-year-old Boulahrouz, an ever-present so far in the Oranje defence, has been with his wife Sabia at a hospital in Lausanne, where she was taken after suffering complications with her pregnancy. He will have freedom to leave the Dutch camp as and when he chooses, explained Van Basten, who said: "He is always allowed to go and visit his wife."
