I don't know when it was taken either but it looks a bit later than the one above (late 70's)?

It looks like Rod only allowed photographers with black & white film when he was around the Stones.

in october 74 Keith's front tooth was at a quite spectacular point in its out-of-body experience,
and by december (when he did the guest appearance with the Faces) he'd had his teeth renovated,
so if that shot is for sure autumn 74, it looks like it would be november or later.

S--i did the same tooth detective work you did-- and the shot is in an old hit parader mag from winter '74 so i assuemd it had to be late fall-- more specifically, think it could be from the faces gig?

plus- there's a shot of jagger in that all but exact look from fall backstage at a lou reed concert at the felt forum with hall/oates and todd rundgren

well ... the Faces gig that Keith guested on was December 23rd, and Keith's attire at the show
was pretty famously Not Like That. but i guess maybe it could be from around the same time,
if Hit Parader was *very* quick about getting photos to the presses. it was a monthly though, wasn't it -
what issue exactly did you find it in? just out of curiosity, please & thank you :E

Soul--i think it was 12/74--met me try and find the issue--even if it's not at the gig per se, it's that era in the winter--

thanks hbwriter - winter 74 makes more sense than autumn 74, but i still have another theory and a half as well.
so if you can find the exact issue, i'll be interested in any further details, thanks.

meanwhile, i find i have the photo that TippyToe posted labelled as december 31st 78/january 1st 79 -
a new year's party scenario. the shot's by Richard Young (which - [peering hard] -
is no doubt what the watermark says on the version TippyToe posted, huh).
so hbwriter, are you real sure of your "spring 78" dating of that shot? in 500 years
when archeologists unearth our threads they will be grateful for all the clarity they can get :E
