Hey the Juf, I see you saw the film. Could you add anything to wet our appetites that was not mentioned in previous reviews that stood out to you. Really looking forward to this film.
Quote Bashlets I really doubt the dvd will be out on April 25th just 3 weeks after theatrical release?
Well, that´s what we are told by Universal Sweden. Believe it or not. But have in mind, that a movie like this is not likely to run for more than a week or two.
the film itself does not contain highlights, the film is ONE big highlight in itself ! my favs: the shot of Buddy Guy while doing Champagne and Reefer, he looks awesomely cool in there. Far Away Eyes is an outstanding version, Mick at his very best! Thank you Jesus, thank you Lord.
the Beacon shots are alternated by excerpts from Whitehead's Charlie is My Darling (Charlie showing his wit, as usual) and several other very old fragments : each member of the Stones is presented in this short trip to memory lane , which from my point of view kind of turns this film into a historic document.
I am going to watch the movie on monday! I really look forward to see this film! I just wonder if you know the setlist for the movie? On imdb someone said that this is the songs on the movie:
Jumpin' Jack Flash Shattered She Was Hot All Down The Line Loving Cup with Jack White As Tears Go By Some Girls Just My Imagination Far Away Eyes Champagne & Reefer with Buddy Guy Tumbling Dice You Got The Silver Connection Sympathy For The Devil Live With Me with Christina Aguilera Start Me Up Brown Sugar Satisfaction
Hi everybody Stonesaddicts! I was seeing the movie yesterday in a theatre in Stockholm. What can I say. After all these years I didn't expect to get thrilled. But...I was! The sound is superb. Scorsese has really made it. When a camera goes to one person the volume is lifted up in the mix so you can, for the first time, really hear what that person play (or sing) much more than in a normal mix. I will not go deep into this movie here now but I will only say that a full satisfaction is guaranteed for all. Best wishes to you all, Thomas Chuppe
The 2011 book Conversations with Scorsese has a chapter on SHINE A LIGHT. (I only just checked it out of the library, so haven't read any of it myself yet.)
