New live CD?

I don't know if anyone allready ask this before, but will there be also a new live cd of this tour? I certainly hope so.
The last two live cd's where just poor, IMO. So I hope this cd will be a hell of cd, with 'rare' songs on it. I mean songs they never relaesed before on a live album and no cuts.

Nope.

if the last two were so poor (and i agree), why would another one of essentially the same tour as the last few be one to look forward to? not following your train of thought....

I was hoping for a Shine A Light Soundtrack CD but since we will almost certainly see a Shine A Light DVD release later on, perhaps not.

Either way, it would sure be nice to see She Was Hot and I'll Go Crazy show up as bonus tracks on a theoretical future Shine A Light release.

Too much to hope for?

I'm tired, I'm tired of doing what I'm told.
Things are moving way too slow.

Just because the last two where poor, I hope the next one will overshadow these two.
Keep positive thinking. Just read The Secret ;-)

I don't think they are poor, so to say, compared to the wealth of boots available from 72/73 and 78 they don't really stand up.

Still Life for that matter isn't all that great except for Just My Imagination, but it really is subjective to a point....Still Life is the first Live album the released after I saw them...First time I saw them was in '78, but no live album.

No Security has some great moments, Sister Morphine, The Last Time, Out of Control, and the crowd singing along after Saint of Me, and not to forget Waiting on a Friend...the rest is just Okay.

Live Licks, well aside from the Rocks Off clip that haunts me when ever I think of this release, it isn't bad; however, the tracks on it have been released, repackaged, and live and in other compilations over and over....its just getting old.

I would like to have a modern day version of JJ Flash on cd..... particularly a version of it as an openingsong (as an opening song, the Stones tend to play it faster than at the end of the show and with more energy, which I think is how JJ Flash should sound....; not like the boring version they put out as an encore).

#1. One CD full of songs available on several previous live albums
#2. The worst edit of any song on any release by any artist in history
#3. #2 being proof enough that the Stones cared so little about the release that they cant possibly have listened to it beforehand
#4. The album being basically an edited audio rip of Four Flicks
#5. The album being released almost as an afterthought one year after the same songs appeared on a DVD - making its very existsnce utterly pointless
#6. Several songs being edited even though there was still 50 minutes free over the two discs

the fact that there are some good performances on it doesnt stop it from being a shoddy, couldnt care less 'product' not worthy of the band's name.

If Decca had put out such a half arsed release after the Stones had left the label, they would have been quick to denounce them for cashing-in with a substandard release.

Four Flicks was a superb release. Live Licks is a disgrace.

The cut in Rocks off on Live Licks is unexcusable.

A five year old with Soundforge could have made a better edit.

As far as I can count, they have fullfilled their recording contract by now, so there shouldn't be any "need" for a new album.
BUT they havn't made a tour since 1981/82 without putting out a live album, so why shouldn't they this time?

I can't see a new live album, with Jagger's best of collection, the DVD set selling well worldwide and Shine a Light is enough material for a year.

Dude. I can't listen to another version of JJF, Brown Sugar etc. I got the message . Hell I can't even bring myself to buy the Bigger Bang DVD. Seen it all before. Don't need another version of the same songs. Now if it wre just the five of them with an occasional horn I might listen. But not with that mob they have up there . Are the Stones REALLY playing anymore ? Who can tell with so many others on the stage.

I'll second that!
First of all, the Stones seems to have performed worse than ever as of late. Second, they haven't really played enough rare songs to make it anything else than another bunch of warhorses (yeah, I know the Beacon theatre and the opening '05 gig had great setlists, but that's about it). If they did anything different for once, a live release on CD would have been warranted. Just look at how good Stripped is. But there's no chance in hell of that at the moment.

I know it sounds shitty, but now I'm just waiting for the Stones to either 1) retire and start looking in the vaults (1969-78 in particular), or 2) do something innovative for the first time since 1989.

Jagger dismissed the idea at the press conference in March
They are also without a record deal.

Well I think No Security and Live Licks(at least the non-warhorse disc) are better than Still Life and Flashpoint as official live releases. But I agree,we certainly don't need more live versions of Brown Sugar,Satisfaction,Jumping Jack Flash. Not only do they think so little of their official releases. They evidently think very little of thier live performances at this point as well. The setlists the last month are downright boring. That's not a setlist whine. It's just a fact.

You could quite easily assemble a first rate live disc from the shows on this tour...

1. Jumping Jack Flash
2. Let's Spend the Night Together
3. She's So Cold
4. Sway
5. Oh No Not You Again
6. As Tears Go By
7. Rain Fall Down
8. Ain't Too Proud To Beg
9. Back of My Hand
10. Streets of Love
11. Midnight Rambler
12. Tumbling Dice
13. Learning The Game
14. This Place Is Empty
15. Under My Thumb
16. Rough Justice
17. Get Off Of My Cloud
18. Honky Tonk Women
19. Start Me Up
20. Brown Sugar

...split over two discs, or perhaps even just sold via iTunes, it'd be a great reminder of a lot of the great tracks from the tour.

That's exactly the problem. Obviously they are unwilling to rehearse really new material. Except for I'll go crazy there has simply been no new song on the entire tour.

I do not object to them playing the warhorses which they must do to attract such big audiences. But a never-performed song now and then would have enlivened the show and even the most casual concertgoer would not have left the stadium (does anyone except the hard-core-fans really know Can't you hear me knocking?)

My small opinion: first they don´t have to do another album for the contract. In my opinion that´s a big thing for them if they would make a live album, they don´t have to. the second thing is that the live cds always sold lesser that their preceder (i hope the spelling is right winking smiley). And if they do now an album, with more obscure stuff(Sway, She´s so cold, She was hot, Keith tracks,Bigger Bang Songs, Covers) it´s truly a thing for die hard fans like us. Really, I would be happy if they act like that, I would go immedeately and buy it. But I don´t think that they are thinking in things like that, at least its always a product to SELL.

You´re right, I´d like to have this CD, but to take it serious, that won´t be a product for the masses......
