_______ chart positioning/sale numbers mean absolutely nothing,, with any anticapated major music entity's work, your going to see hugh numbers cause thats what 'they ship' and that bleeds into promotion... not just from the band, but the music industry as a whole...
out of 16 or so songs, there is not one that holds up, thats infectious, for any long term endurance,, and that is not a good percentage..
most leave feeling hungry for what is not on the table..
, ,, rough justice was postured to be 'the rocker', and some would not give that even a passing grade, a very contrived number that borders on obnoxious,,
notice, the band didnt even play the album, some shows completely omitted any abb tunes or just tokenly carried one.. i suspect we didnt hear what many of us requested , ie: nearly died, let me down slow, she saw me coming, etc etc (actually anything new) cause they didnt bother to learn them for they had no interest in handling what they thought was subpar, inferior.... actually, one camp wanted to remix the whole dam thing and re release it with those extra numbers..
it is a frisbee that few can throw and listen from one end to the other completey thru.. it wobbles in the air causing kenitic eyeball movement,, like other recent attempts, they seem to want to hit every demographic area for sales, and that causes a very uneven flight,, any air traffic controller would ground a bigger bang.... its as though they have lost confidense... age is definitely a factor..
i would bet the band never has listened all the way thru either... except bill wyman...
....... these are just 'some' observations, much generally speaking, not just some nego ramblin on,, i am always pulling for the stones,, i have been with them since 64, wittnessed there entirely and assume some of there motivations for mortality is a big factor,, but this last album and there constant saturating shows leave me with a hope that they release a fresh dis with in a year to rectify themselfs,, but that is a hugh gamble, they have more to lose than win ..
its a strange deal.. think ill crank up ya yas right now.. get on with the day.
