- Goodbye comes hard for me (forgot who sang it, it's on the RED HOT AND COUNTRY album

- Down to seeds and stems blues - Commander Cody and his Lost Plant Airmen

- Farther along - Elvis Presley

But for the saddest songs of all time I would also go for

I'd expected to see all the songs of Tom Waits here. Maybe he has some uplifting songs but man, i do get down, i a good way, when i listen to him!

This song is an absolute weeper for me too - mainly because I can't help but think of Elvis' state of mind at the time.
