With my typical timing I really got into VH in late '85, so I missed the whole DLR era--first VH concert was 5150 Tour.

They did some great stuff with Sammy but those orginal VH records can't be touched.

Hey Glass Slide. The hell with Van Halen. What's Ronnie Montrose doing these days? Him and Sammy and Michael Anthony should do a tour. Now that would kick some ass. imho

Yep, sure was. I'm listening to the last number right now, a great version of Whole Lotta Love.

The final Zep show was Berlin, no?

Sweet---For Unlawful...is, imo the best "Sammy" Vh record---that's a good one--lots of good stuff--produced by Andy Johns, by the way.........

Funny, how things can go in cycles.

On topic---Mellencamp----Melting Pot---great tune--check it out...........

Showtime at the Apollo is on TV in the background. A rap group that hasn't yet been booed off the stage...

Doors the new box set...
Curious & interesting to see (or sooner hear) how
Roadhouse Blues is becoming what we know...
Now I know the weariness in Jim's voice may not be
life-weariness but boredom after some 14 takes.

I like one of the first cuts where he lets out his
rarely known falsetto...

GSlide, that 'Whenever We Wanted To' CD by Mellencamp really features some good rocking. One of the songs starts off kinda like HTW - can't recall the title right now ("They're So Tough", maybe?).

Watching an interview of James Brown on 'Breakfast With The Arts'. I think it's taped!?!

It is grey and overcast where I am, and I am not only waiting on the sun, I'm waiting on the maintenance man because the heat is off in here! Getting the hell out of here in a minute to go watch a basketball game, tho.

No, I used to be really into college ball but not so much these days. I'm mostly into pro ball, the NBA. I saw the Suns/Cavs, Lakers/Spurs doubleheader at a friend's house.

I warned you about the Lopez twins Lip. Is it true that in So Cal they call UCLA the 13th grade? Or is that USC?

Interesting question---will have to check that out---I like that record and Big Daddy alot. Been listening to a fair amount of Mellancamp lately---really has made some great records. Kenny Aranoff (sp?) is an awesome drummer and I like the way he puts his songs together.

Back to the thread---listening to Led Zep How Many More Times Medley from Royal Albert Hall---classic Zep at the top of their game, before their "indulgences" musical and otherwise caught up with them.
