Whoa, Luke and scl, I have 12 and 16 year old sons living with me. Heavy sedation is neccesary!

BTW, that "Young Americans" is always a great choice.

"September Gurls" - Big Star from the "That 70's Show" soundtrack.

If you haven't seen the Dick Cavett version of Young Americans, that was included in the "Best Of Bowie" DVD, you should check this one out...
Bowie looking kinda unhealthy...

OK E. Will take your word for it. After all I'm just an "Excitable Boy".

I always thought it was "Send lawyers guns and money, dad, get me out of this"

Either way---great tune--believe Waddy plays on that, right?

Love the begining guitar scratch--always sounded like a strat to me.

It's dad alright. The Wallflowers (with Jakob Dylan, Bob's son) cover this song on a Zevon tribute album and Jakob sings an alternate lyric: "Warren, get me out of this" which I thought was pretty clever. Love, love, love Warren Zevon. This thread has inspired me to listen to some Zevon. Playing "Even A Dog Can Shake Hands" right now.

Hey ohno. Didn't Rick Derringer also do a version of this song. Maybe that's where I heard the alternative verse.

Me too. I've written dozens of potential hits but didn't record any of them and forgot them all by the next day!

I didn't know he had, but I googled it and sure enough he did. I bet that's a pretty cool cover version, I like Rick Derringer.

I also found this String Quartet Tribute to Warren Zevon (it's gotta be either great or terrible, probably terrible) with an interesting title: [www.amazon.com]

Yeah man. You want to know how big a Derringer fan I am? If I'm not mistaken. I think the Zevon cover was on a Rick Derringer album called. If I Were'nt So Romantic I'd Shoot You.

He's a founding member and has been in the group throughout their existence. I saw the Wallflowers open for the Stones in L.A. in 1997. They weren't spectacular but they were pretty good. Their first album (or at least the breakthrough one, it came out in 1996) was really good but their stuff I've heard since has been kind of bland.

Thanks, I was going to ask which album it was on.
