The most horrific sound you can imagine is in the Amsterdam Arena, I still fighting for a refund of the 1998 concert!

The last part is a joke

Great description...all those shoes, isn't Leonard around? I wonder where he was standing, we should get more info.
I got JFK Stadium on CDR today, I only had an incomplete tape earlier.
It's actually a very cool show, very strange atmosphere, and such a great Satisfaction...and a great Ronnie on Far Away Eyes.

I thought the sound was excellent from where we were sitting in the lower section (5 rows up) back by the "B" stage.

really? were were right by the b-stage near Ronnie and the sound was atrocious from the get-go....guitars were non-existant in the mix!

I remember when I saw them there on the No Security Tour thinking how horrid the sound was and that it was 100 times better this time around. Guess it just depends on where your at on a given show.

The sheer thrill of that show (my first) made it the most memorable, but I wouldnt put it in my top ten performance-wise, very good though it undoubtedly was.

LA FORUM, NOVEMBER 8th, 1969 (first REAL Rock Concert - very interesting to a super young lad)

LA FORUM, JUNE, 1972 (early show - 6th row center) Great to be THAT close. Filmed some of it on super 8 mm film movie camera with a great zoom. Mick wore the black tank top, silver jacket, and yellow pants - no jumpsuit (that was in San Diego a few days earlier - blue one)

LA FORUM, JANUARY 1973 - Earthquake benefit show, LOVED the set list (better than 1972 tour. MIDNIGHT RAMBLER was the encore - not included on the boot - at least the first boot to come out)

LA FORUM, JULY 1975, Last show of 5 night stand. Mick told us numerous times what a great audience we were. Talk was that this show WAS gonna be the live album for the 1975 tour - it should have been, a better show then the LOVE YOU LIVE collection. (EL MOCOMBO should have been a seperate live album with the entire show)

ANAHEIM STADIUM, SUMMER, 1978 Went to both shows. Saw the spontanious shoe throwing event, pretty bizarre.

TIE: LA 1989 Show/ANAHEIM 1999 No Security show. Both had great set lists.

Soundcheck, had to leave for a while. Check out my answer on page 2. MB

#1- July 9,1975 Inglewood Forum, Los Angeles, CA. Tour of The Americas. Unbeliveable. My 1st concert and was the envy of my high school teachers as I had tickets with my pal and they did not. Also a 1st time taking a toke. I swear I didn't inhale. I took my drivers exam the following month. A memorable time.

#2- 1994 Voodoo Lounge. Rose Bowl Pasadena CA.My brother and I sat front row right in front of Ronnie. If that doesn't give a you a boner, nothing will.

#3- 1981. Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum. Prince,Thorogood, J Geils opened. Price was booed off of the stage after being peltered by food. He was clad in a jock strap and raincoat. Later that year, "Purple Rain" comes out. who would have thought it. The concert rocked.

#4- 1997 Babylon- Dodger Stadium, Los Angeles, CA. 25 rows back, dead center. Awesome.

#5- 2002 Tacoma Dome, Tacoma ,WA. Awesome set list and excellent sound. Our seats were awesome.

What an enjoyable thread.

Sorry there are no more people who feel a gig on the ABB tour was high on their list. What about Paris? My English friends all raved about both shows at Twickers.

As a teenager I saw the Stones at Royal Albert Hall in 1966. The whole world changed as far as I was concerned. Saw them many times in great situations. But I do believe that the November 6, 2005 concert at the Hollywood Bowl was amazing and it filled me with pride for "The Boys." I felt the spirit, the roots of the band were still there with a hell of a lot of professionalism on top of that. Thought "Satisfaction" was brilliant! And, of course, this was the night they played my new fave, "Back of My Hand."
