Maybe they are bored of Europe...or just don't care...too much whining over there anyway.

Churchill Downs... I'm gonna call up my contacts to see what the story is...

EDIT: I checked with my most reliable local contact and he doesnt know anything about the rumored Louisville date. The good thing is I have a friend who works at Churchill Downs! Hopefully he will be able to check that date and see if anything is scheduled... If it goes down maybe he'll be able to get me some killer seats. Booya!

What are the current OTB odds on the Churchill Downs show being an all warHORSES gig?

They will be contractually obligated to play Dead Flowers - Churchill Downs is paying them a million bucks to mention the Kentucky Derby.

I don't know if Aloha Stadium will sell out, but a concert Thanksgiving weekend in Honolulu? Full flights and rack rates at hotels -- are they trying to make this tour as expensive as humanly possible for their fans?

of course, I'll be there anyway.

US tour was booked before Keith fell from the tree (and several European shows were cancelled).

That should be the name for their next tour, the "Expensive As Humanly Possible Tour."

After the most of the Stadium tickets are sold first, then they will announce some arena dates. You can't tell me MSG will not be on the list.

Idaho center Capacity 12,200 could be one of the best place on that list.

Pretty Easy: Would you pay up to 450 USD or even more for a show in Europe?
Defenitely not. So why dragging around Europe in not sold out stadium except Horsens and Zurich?. Get the money where you can crab it and for entertainment that is still the North American market,
I would have loved to see some arena shows in Europe, but already when they made the obscure announcement for the European Tour I was a bit worried. Anyway I had two good concerts so far. But after all I would have rather saved my money for the US again.

It's not about the money!

Actually the Stones like to tour the USA for all of the great soccer they get to see in the USA....smiling smiley

im dissapointed no NOLA.. 4 shows within driving distance so that is cool but you couldnt pay me to go to Giants stadium, and the Beacon and AC are going to be impossible.. but im trying anyway haa plus Boston is a possibility...

to all the european fans, it does suck they are playing here again after cancelling over there, but i think it is very true that alot of this was already set before the accident...

but this all still just rumor so wtf knows...

Someone told me the special opening act...Eric Clapton; anyone else hear that?

Re: Fall Tour

no, first i heard that, i have heard the Who and Aerosmith..

wow that would be too cool... and make tixs that much harder to get dammit

haaa

I think he's in Boston around the same time the Stones are due to play there.

Re: Fall Tour

If Clapton does any shows, it will likely be on the west coast where he doesn't already have dates announced. It would be nice if places like Missoula and Wichita got top tier openers since those towns rarely see that kind of talent.

yea really that would be cool, i live in NJ so i am spoiled as far as shows go, i can pretty much pick & choose, i could go broke going to shows very easily... im only 40 mins from Philly, 1.5 hours from NYC and 4 hours from Boston...

Me too. Did they have a falling out with a promoter down there or something? It's been 12 years since they played there, and the place could use some Stones vibes right about now.

good question...it was a rumour on the list here a long time ago, but it disappeared right after Katrina...

hey stones todd, what is Mc Caffee Colesium? is that what they call oakland collesium now?

Re: Fall Tour

yup - and with the Mt. Davis additions you can bet the rumor of ACDC/Who/Stones is more than just a rumor - no way the Stones could put a dent in that upper level without serious support act help - SF in '05 might have been cancelled if not for Metallica....

Re: Fall Tour

Id like to see that. with only one show, I wonder if that line up would sell out & how fast.

Kinda doubt that happening.

I've seen EC probably 30 or 40 times since 1982, shows in Europe, Japan, USA. Never has he opened for anyone during that time.

If any big name act is going to open for them the smart money is on AC/DC. They've worked together before, they share tour personel (Chuch Megee ramrodded the last AC/DC tour after BTcool smiley and the AC/DC is supposedly going to do their own farewell tour next year. This could be a precursor to that. A passing of the torch of you will.

I wonder if that makes sense. First, we are saying they get bored because the stadiums in Europe are empty. Second, they tour US because they can sell fast and collect cash and Finally, it's only due to Metallica if they sell out Stadium on the WestCoast or elsewhere in America. If I were the latter group I wouldn't care of The Stones and tour on my own. But maybe it was The Stones who opened for Matallica.....

Elton John, Dodger Stadium 1992. Well, it was coheadlining with a rotating bill but he still went on first at least once. My guess is, like just about every other performing artist, he will take a gig if the pay is right.
