I'm listening to Dan Lapinsky's recording of the Kinks in Providence, RI on November 30, 1974. I'm in the oldies set now, but will soon get a full performance of Preservation.

I joined one on FB that has the same name for some reason. I had to do some editing to get it to stop letting me know that someone commented. A bit of a drag really.

"Love Child" by The Supremes...

By the way, it's been bugging me for a year that there is an exclamation point instead of a question mark at the end of this thread title. It's a question, after all. Can CindyC edit the title?

Sorry Tele71 - I didn't realize it was annoying anyone! But I deliberately put the exclamation point there instead of a question mark because I wanted to emphasize the THIS VERY SECOND part - meaning not what you listened to this morning, or lately, but THIS VERY SECOND! You know how sometimes you're listening to a song and it just sounds so great you have to talk about it - that's what I wanted to know. Share the excitement of what you are feeling as you are listening.

Wasn't looking too good, but I was feeling real well.

Juan, I'm not embarrassed to admit that I love the music from Hair. I'm not so crazy about the stuff that turned up on the radio (like the 5th Dimension and Cowsills versions), but I like the movie soundtrack. The female vocalist on "Walkin in Space" is out of this world. Her voice is angelic, truly.

Since writing this post nearly 5 years ago, I have since found out that the vocals on that Walkin in Space song was dubbed by Betty Buckley who played the step-mom on the old Eight is Enough show. I knew she was on broadway, but i had never heard her sing. What a voice!

She comes on at 1:48 in this clip

if i may interject a suggestion. tele raised a very valid grammatical issue. and cindy also iterates a perfectly acceptable explanation. there is a path to reconciliation by simply retitling the thread thusly:

What I am listening to this very second!

you're welcome and please carry on....

A great suggestion, and had it been present 5 years ago, I would gladly have made the change. But this thead is a classic now and should be kept as such. Similar to the Lands' End catalog. The apostrophe was put in the wrong spot on the first issue and was printed that way. But they became successful anyway and decided to keep it. I think this should be the same.

The new SHM-SACD from Japan of Sticky Fingers. Costs a small fortune, and "Sister Morphine" sounds like the band is in my living room. great.

Total Jam 44 years later ('67). Death by good music. Same players. Killer leads. Singing like crazy too. Remember the middle finger album cover?
