There's absolutely no battle between Miss U. and me. I only can't stand her psychotic postings and her disturbed mind. I find that she continues to spoil this board, and the other boards she's been thrown off. Last year she said goodbye to this board, to everybody's relieve. Unfortunately she's back.

Mathijs
ps: and about me "being always right": I like to discuss topics with knowledgable people on this board. Until this very moment, "Stranger" did not react to my post where I pointed out he/she made many mistakes.

Yes, Smokey and Chris that's the one!

Chris, when you get your scanner working can you post the pic of Bill and that bass? (I thought it was a '67 picture cos of the Light Years caption- perhaps you can confirm that the latter is correct).

The bass on Ya-Yas cover is different though, I think.

A book worth having. (Saw it on e-bay once.)

Well Mathijs.

YOU didn't respond back to my comments about your opinions on Taylor, 1976 - 1983?? I don't agree with your assessments on why Taylor kept a low profile..

Spreading lies & slander, Mathijs? Get your facts straight. Any boards I've left was of my own accord, due to harrassment such as this. You seem to have a problem facing the truth about your stones....Why so upset that I would ask someone else (not you) if MT was blacklisted?

I also recall, Miss U, you stating that you were leaving this board, never to return. So what are you doing back here? Is your word just not trustworthy? Were you lying then, and are you lying now?

Back then I was being harassed, and there was too much off topic posting and Brian Jones negativity on the board.
I have as much right to be here as anyone. Don't have to give a reason either!~

Peace, love & jajouka...

Ah, thanks Terry! This has been one of the better threads we have had on here in awhile so let's all stick to the subject at hand which is Mick T's guitars, OK?

Hey Rockman. The pic above looks to be from 1982 reunion tour with John Mayall. The guitar is probably an early 1960's pre CBS Stratocaster with the stock pickups removed and replaced with God's knows what. Mick used this guitar alot for slide work and I remember he used it on the opening number of that tour which was "An Eye for an Eye." Great rockin' blues man! Thanks again Terry! You are indeed the man!

Nice pic Chippy. Thanks! It's hard to tell but it looks like it could be the Keith Burst discussed earlier. I'd need to see a pic that shows the flame of the top better to be certain.

Chris,

Thanks for all the fascinating info. Do you have any info on pre- and post-Stones amps used by Taylor? I presume he used amps similar to Keith when Taylor was with the Stones.

Rockman,

Very nicely done. The smokes, by the way, look like reissue Chesterfields. Don't they heat up the wood or the strings?

As for the flame on Chippy's pix, all the pix I've seen are blurry:

Does anyone know which show those pix might be from?

Here is a 1970 shot of the SG:

Contrary to what someone wrote earlier, I think Taylor looks different in just about every picture. I sometimes think I would not recognize him without the blond hair and guitar.

I don't have time to respond to all posts, especially with larger posts like on this thread.

I don't know too much about Taylor's '76 - 79 and mid-80's period, but I guess nobody really does. But there's a few remarks, for example from John Philips, who stated that when he visited Taylor at home in '77 he was a complete reclusive junkie. There's remarks by Jack Bruce of the same caliber, from Andy Johns and Bobby Keys, and also Taylor himself stated he was a total junkie in those years. I do not know what the exact truth is, but it does explain why didn't produce anything but one record from '75 until late '81.

Thank you very much for this!

I think he has said that Hendrix inspired his use of the Strat.
