This was the better show of the tour so far.
Keith is back and I don't think it's due to the bandana.
You Got the Silver was great to hear again.
They are getting better on Angry and Mess It Up. Whole Wide World goes over with the crowd better I think.
Now, off to the east coast only to head to Seattle on Tuesday.
It's a real shame for the fans who attended the 3 previous shows of lesser quality. Tough luck!
I advise everyone to buy tickets for the last show of the tour !
you know if you have such a clear disdain for the band as it currently exists and the joy of others in that fact (and there expressing it at all) perhaps you shouldn't be posting in threads related to the current tour or shows
or if your able express your critical thoughts in a clear understandable way instead of passive agressive sarcastic swipes at other people
like an adult
Adult ?
But I totally am. And logical, no less.
If Vegas is the best show SO FAR of the Tour, that implies that the previous three weren't as good, and that the band's performance was sub-par. Keith in particular? No ?
I've never understood this herd mentality where we all have to agree somethings fantastic or crap.
It's all about how we perceive a performance, take for instance Keith, while we know he can't be the Keith he was in 1990 we can still appreciate that he has moments of brilliance like on Gimme Shelter a couple shows ago.
We aren't saying it was best ever, just that it was a magical moment.
He was also great on SMU last night not best ever but worth noting he was great.
Well said, keefriffhards.
I know we go back and forth about whatever, meaning, we do agree on ABC sometimes but usually it's... argumentative or... a 180 view on whatever, Usually Keith. You hear greatness, I hear cringe. You hear cringe, I hear brilliance.
Whatever.
Point on.

You should start from the assumption that no one goes to an RS concert to listen to perfection, they never did, not even in the 70s. The Stones have always alternated great performances with mediocre performances, it is logical that today at the beautiful age of 80 this it's even more true... but do you know? The best concert will be the one where you will be there, because that energy, that emotion surpasses any type of musical performance and cannot be reproduced on YouTube. This is the greatness of the Stones!

Well said. Every band or sports figure has good days and bad days. In their prime the bad days are more infrequent but happen and as they age there are more bad days than in their prime but on those good days they are still the best.
For Lebron James at 40 he isn't the same player but on a good day he is still on of the goats, same with the Rolling Stones. On their bad days just being present is worth the memories. Much better to say I saw the Stones show and it had its moments than discussing that fantasized Led Zeppelin show that never happened last week.

The difference is that in the 70s their output was fresh and vibrant. It's not anymore. Their core material is more than 50 years old and played more than thousand times live by now.
The main issue here is not really good or bad days or even flubbing intros.

If it sucks that bad then why go and why are you here? Not trying to provoke anything but when I am done with a band or topic I move on. I followed the Grateful Dead around the world but not into Dead & Company. I don't post on sites saying John Mayer sucks compared to Jerry Garcia. Those who know me know my feelings but I see no need going on sites saying it sucks.
You’re right, I wasn’t being careful and looked at Houston.Quote
bye bye johnny
Both "You Got The Silver" and "Little T&A" are included.

I didn't say it sucks I simply suggest it has been played over and over for decades and is not that exciting anymore - which it still was in the 70s. To each their own though.

This is crazy, absolutely crazy arguments, it's like if anyone dare not support every bum note and mistake as normal then go away and don't comment here again. How many times have the Stones played these songs, what excuses can be made for not even making a recognisable solo or intro, it's been happening since the beginning.
Surely real fans of the Stones can comment on a negative aspect of their personal experience of a song or a solo, missed que, forgotten lyrics,
bad timming, poor sound, boring setlist or disappointing show.
It's life, opinions, do you guys want to cancel opinions unless they are yours.

So your point is that Beethoven’s 5th Symphony has been played over and over for two centuries and is not that exciting anymore - which it still was in the 1800s?
Excellent music remains excellent forever. People’s tastes may change over time, but The Rolling Stones wrote some of the best rock and roll songs in history, and we are fortunate enough to still get to hear them play those songs live.
Just my point of view.

I see shows all the time, you must be confusing me with someone else.
Always catch the Stones in Europe since 1990.
I think Keith was fantastic two nights ago, Mick and Ronnie have been incredible since Houston,
It's going to be fantastic.
Just stop telling people to go away if they have the slightest criticism.

Does anybody know, what was exchanged between Keith and Mick at the beginning of YGMR? See the video from 0:00 to 0:07

My mistake, thought you were one of the minions watching the streams. If you were there you have a perspective.

Ha! I didn't notice that. Keith didn't let Mick introduce it as the song vote. Seems like Mick is like, "Again?" And Keith says, "I'm sorry..." *smile and shrug*

Did Mick sing again...with some Argentinians girls that's just dyin' to meet you"?
Mick has done this often in last tour as well. There were a bunch of folks from Argentina in pit B.
