Will the one that comes out on the 6th have a sticker like the other editions?

Wait until release day, look at real pictures of the cover and then place your order if the sticker is important to you.

Does anyone feel we will see the film of the making of hackney diamonds

The confidence with which they announced that makes you feel like "yes probably", but one wonders as this should have been a key part of the marketing campaign around the album who's moment seems to have come and gone.

I just wonder what happened that in the best case scenario has "delayed" its release.

If Mick thinks the documentary is boring or uninteresting, it won't come out, just because the die hards are interested doesn't mean the rest are interested, so I'm not surprised that they have archived it, they already did it with the 2012 rehearsals with Bill Wyman, everything was recorded and never came out.

This documentary seems to suffer the same fate.

Better to release an old recital from the hundreds they have in the vaults, less effort and the audience that will consume it is the same.

You can criticize Elton John for his Liberace life style I guess. But no one can deny his obvious talent, both as a musician and artist.

Who's criticizing him?

No one - but Keith did.

It wasn't about his Liberace life style.

And what does ‘Liberace life-style’ mean, exactly? Elton is married, with two children. That’s a lot of us here, right?

Maybe an extended version with the follow-up studio album of Hackney Diamonds.

When the follow-up studio of HD in your opinion, could see the light?

I'd like them to release it just before it's quite finished .

If I have one criticism of HD , some of it has had just a few too many rough edges polished off.

I agree PLUS that SSOH is basically Otis' I Got Dreams To Remember during the verse and Depending On You is basically a poor man's Keys To Your Love...

I would love them to go back to that dry, Was-inspired sound as well. It's the Stones trademark really.

Depending On You is a poor man's Keys To Your Love?

Why anyone at Virgin Records allowed Keys To Your Love to be released is a mystery because it's horrendous.

It is a bit funny that the songs are similar in structure but Depending On You is light years better than that terrible FORTY LICKS filler song.

Grammy Nomination - Hackney Diamonds

Announced as nominee for Best Rock Album.

Checked for Andrew Watt for Producer of the Year, didn’t see him listed. One heck of an oversight.

Surprised there's not more commentary on this, tbh, although I know the awards often mean more to the artists than they do to us. That's a strong list, there, and my guess is that they have a good shot. Apart from anything else I think the voters might want to give them what might be one last shot at an award. (My vote is still going to No Name, though. winking smiley )

Wonder if they'll play the awards show . . .

You're prolly right. They will at some point get a lifetime achievement award, and THEN they'll play.

They already had that one. They didn't play, but show up (via satellite) drunk, especially Charlie. The rest needed to cool him down...tongue sticking out smiley

That HD will not be amongst the newer albums nominated may mitigate against it I'm afraid.

Pearl Jam will be the strongest contender, imo.

Thinking of that hilarous 'performance' from 1986, makes me wonder if that was the very last time The Stones acted controversial in public. Since then, starting with 'come back' in 1989, they'd been behaving so well, almost gentlemen-like in public (if we forget some of Keith's headline comments).

But back in 1986 I wonder how was the public reception like. Probably still back then Grammys were something rock generations couldn't give a shit, but I guess especially in America it was a big deal, and The Stones probably turned out as morons. The Stones were not that highly regarded at the time in general - it was the the 80's at its best/worst - and that probably didn't much help. Bad behaving relics from the past or something. So out of time.grinning smiley

True, Dandie. But The Stones have always treated us fans like useful idiots. They know they have won our hearts, and do whatever and can get away with it. Probably we actually love them for being so damn arrogant for us...grinning smiley
