so excited by these two articles

they really do give a clearer picture of what a "new era" means

the next few years could end up being the most active the bands been in decades

tours, new albums, a documentary on the making of that new album, and presumably a continuing stream of new archival releases

all this in a short span of time while two thirds of the band is in there 80'seye popping smiley

also for us crazies who love listening to hours and hours of outtakes its comforting to know that there is a "massive stockpile recordings" made with charlie in the last decade and over 100 demos out there toogrinning smiley

"The Rolling Stones will drop one of their longest tracks in the coming weeks.

Insiders say the group, made up of Mick Jagger, Keith Richards and Ronnie Wood, will release Sweet Sounds Of Heaven, running for a whopping seven minutes and 22 seconds."

"Sometime last year, before they’d given themselves a deadline, the Glimmer Twins decamped to Jamaica with Jordan and pianist Matt Clifford to work on some new songs."

It's somehow sad (and likewise telling) that quite obviously Ronnie is not considered a songwriting partner.

Agreed. It's like it just isn't 1985 any more. I don't know what happened.

I was a little worried when Angry was released, but Get Close is suprisingly good and on the same level as A Bigger Bang.
It's definitely better than songs like Sweet Neo Con and Look What The Cat Dragged In.

Personally I think that creative out of nowhere percussion break and sax solo elevarea Get Close a few levels above ABB.

now i may be way off here but it's seems to me that get close is about a lonely desperate man going to see a prostitute he found online

which would make it the third song about this subject they've done after silver train and hey negrita

anyone else get that from these lyrics?

I'm sure The Stones will be on the cover of Rolling Stone Magazine with the release of their new album. Does anyone know how many times they've been on it, I'm quessing a lot

Be cool if the Hackney Gazette made the cover of Rolling Stone Magazine

Yeah, Ronnie's been "uninvited" to the creative process since 1989 when they decided to "refocus". He's commented a few times on it himself, around 2002 I believe, to the tune of "I don't want to interfere when they have so many ideas floating around"...

So much for DMT possibly being the devilish groove with the harmonica : "There’s a different kind of feel on ‘Driving Me Too Hard’; it’s almost country." - I still hope it's on there though !

Nico Zentgraf has him at the NYC sessions last year, but that must have been incorrect info.

Not sure, but the article said he was occupied with touring during the recording process.

Yeah,, but the other Charlie tune, the dance track "Mess it Up" is still an option, if he was there in 2019 when the song (initially?) was recorded.

But probably all we can do is to see if Keith, Ronnie, Bill, Watt (?) and Macca are able to fill his shoes..winking smiley

The Don Was case is interesting. The articles seem to tell the diplomatic story that since Was was busy, they needed to find another producer. So they got Watt.

Are the Twins nowadays really so diplomatic and humble that they let their trusted people to have priorities over them? I am a bit skeptical here. Something in me says that if they really would have wanted to have him, he would have been there.. Or Was had re-arranged his schedule if have had the call..

Sounds pretty logical to me. The songs co-written by Ronnie are among my least favorite Stones tracks. Dance part 1, Everyting is turning to Gold, half of Dirty Work... The only truly great Stones song with Wood credits (my opinion) is No Use in Crying

I saw a post on FB forum that Depending On You is already available on Amazon Music. I don't see it in my app so maybe it is there but for another country or full subscription is needed.

Angry" has appeared on the soundtrack of the latest Reservation Dogs episode - apparently the Stones 'offered' it to the show.

Maybe he is on some of the finished but hitherto unreleased tracks. Or his part was overdubbed by Macca ...
