I've been checking the ASCAP website for some days before finding those tracks, but I can't be sure of the date they appeared there.

Registration of these tracks at German GEMA was on 21-Aug-2023. See above. GEMA says btw 'original title' (Originaltitel).

I did see! smiling smiley

For all we know, they were registered by someone based on the chatter that originated here.

Someone registers track names with ISWC code numbers just for fun at three official rights-societies. Hard to believe, MelBelli.

I have registered song titles at ASCAP. It’s free.

I am not discounting the titles. Personally, I think they’re pretty bad.
But that means nothing.

Have you checked BMI?

Have you registered them as Promopub? Pretty sure that means something.

Of course it means something. I’m not discounting them. All I’ve said is that I found the forty-something songs that resulted from that search to be a very odd lot (deluxe reissues — All the Rage, Scarlett, etc.)

The titles themselves, at first glance, strike me as something more akin to working titles. “Whole Wide World” and “Dreamy Skies” are terrible.

But who knows.

This story from 2020 suggests the Stones use ASCAP *and* BMI:

Isn't ASCAP for UME and BMI for Polydor?

That could be. I honestly don’t know. BMI is strictly for the US, but content is mutually recognized by other companies like the French and German ones mentioned above.

All I’m saying is this: it’s going to take more than a partial list of titles registered recently on ASCAP for me to believe that the first Rolling Stones record in 18 years is a mere 11 tracks long and includes a nursery-rhyme-sounding title such as “Whole Wide World.”

So many of those rumored song titles are clichés...

So what’s the over/under on the song with Bill being credited as “The Rolling Stones featuring Bill Wyman?” You know it’s coming, so let’s start getting upset about it now and hopefully get it out of our systems by the time the album comes out.

I don't think they would register fake song titles.

I don’t think they would, either, and I never suggested they did.

Maybe they’re for this album. Maybe they’re for a future reissue. I don’t know.

That’s all I’m saying. I don’t think we know everything just yet.

I don't think they would register fake song titles.

Why not? And on the album release day they send ASCAP, SACEM and GEMA just an update. The unique and true ISWC-Code (and the other data) remain, except the updated track title.

That is a plausible theory.

Is that standard practice in the industry? Changing the registered song titles on the day of the actual release?

Dunno, but when I found the GEMA database, a field there says: "Last update" (Letzte Aktualisierung) with the date.

There you go. A small but telling discrepancy — one that just so happens to coincide with a track title that had accidentally slipped out through a photograph years ago.

Patience, people.

Maybe it's a version of Dream About from the leaked outtakes

Good to know, thanks.

I am excited, I became a fan in 2009, so this will be first stones albums of completely new songs since I became a fan.

Long live The Rolling Stones
