I believe searchable databases online have been common for about 20 years now. That said, in years past the lead up to a release was longer (no jokes about recording times) so the trades (even Rolling Stone) would often publish the names of tracks as mixing neared the final stage and would often still have 3-6 months between publication and the album dropping. It made fans feel in the know. Once Bill German was publishing, he would usually scoop all of them on that front.

From Dylan, to Sinatra, to Elvis, to Tony Bennet, to Willie Nelson, to James Brown, and so many others - there've been quite a few great cover versions of this absolute classic.
Even Paul McCartney did a version with Eric Clapton at the Concert For George. Maybe it's finally time for the Stones to unleash their own new cover version featuring Paul on bass!
