Glad the guys who fell are OK... that was fun to watch!

Congrats to Team USA for getting gold in the women's hockey game against Team Canada in a shootout. Excellent game, either team could have won it. I found it hard to believe there were a number of empty seats in the building for a gold medal game. Not a very large arena either.

After Don Cherry called the American women slobs because they did not come to the arena in dress clothes and high heels after the last game as the Canadian women did, I guess the American women just peed on his wacky suit. The American women win gold, they are the winners and they deserved it. Congrats to the ladies.

Cherry is a bloviating buffoon who should have been put out of our misery years ago. Congrats USA.

Today was gold-, silver- and bronce-day for Switzerland. Michelle Gisin, the winner of the gold medal (combination downhill - slalom) is the younger sister of Dominique Gisin who won the gold medal in the downhill race four years ago at the Olimpics.

Congrats to the Gisin -family

Now Canada's mens curling team loses in the semis to the US. Canada has won gold the last 3 Olympics and many in Canada expected them to win it again. Now they'll play for bronze. Very disappointing Olympics for our curling teams!

(Jean Levac / Postmedia)

Gold and silver in women’s ski cross. Canada has now surpassed our best winter Olympic medal count (despite various debacles on the ice), in second place behind Norway, who are very worried! grinning smiley

I still wonder why the USA had no athletes in snow cross...
I guess little interest, little funding, no athletes... but idk

Personally I think it is fun to watch... but NBC (and others) disagree... so again idk

It's great that Canada has won the most medals ever in a winter Olympics. However, the sports that we expected to get medals in, we didn't get any! Men's curling team lost the bronze medal game this morning so neither mens or womens got a medal, first time ever that's happened. Both got gold in Sochi.
Disappointing result for the men's hockey team. They lost to Germany in the semi finals!!! Even though no current NHL players were allowed to play, there were still a number of former NHL players on the team. Now they'll play for bronze. Women's team were very disappointed losing to the US in the exciting gold medal game. Both got gold in Sochi.

Yep, congrats to Germany for two well-deserved wins against Sweden and Canada. They played very well. I think it will end for them
against OAR in the final though. But however it goes it will be their best result ever in the Olympics ice hockey tournament.

Sweden has both their curling teams in the finals on the other hand. Always a comforting thought...

Congrats to the Russians girls 15-year-old Alina Zagitova and her rival countrywoman Evgenia Medvedeva for winning gold and silver in figure skating yesterday. Cutie Kaetlyn Osmond of Canada won bronze.

These young ladies put on a show of the ages. Russia's first gold of the Olympics. It took a 94-pound 15-year-old beauty to win it for them. Good for those girls and the common Russian citizens.

Also worth mentioning is the Chinese speed skater Wu Dajing broke the world record twice in the men's 500m Short Track event with a time of 39.584 to win gold. Where did he come from? Wow, that's fast.

Am I the only one who thinks that the Winter Olympics are way more entertaining than a Stones concert of at least the last 20 years? Can a single winter event even qualify that statement?
