It wasn't 'differen't' back then. I was there. I remember this stuff happening.
Even the Stones themselves, world-class hedonists, were appalled. Bill himself came to his senses a few years later and left the band to straighten himself out.
I like Bill. From a distance you get the sense he's grown. He's had a better life after the Stones, which was a long shot. Still he's a strange cat.
But the movie should definitely be shown to those who wish to view it.

Again, this is not about Wyman marrying Smith, it’s all about censorship, safe spaces, mob mentality, free speech, power, dominance and retrictions.

Yup. And i might add third wave feminists. I dont agree with everything the second wave feminists did (like when a Swedish second waver ruined family courts in Sweden - which had a huge negative impact in the US) but Im obviously for all the equalities, free speech, freedom for minorities women etc that we used to have in Europe and the US. Now it’s all about autistic lingustics.
Well woman defiantly have equal rights in the UK, they have far more rights than men in fact, ask any guy getting divorced for instance, the courts favor women, that's a good thing i think when it comes to custody, children tend to need their Mothers more than their Fathers, but now it's going too far, men are like second class citizens these days.
I am waiting to hear what rights women or minorities don't have in Western Countries.
The 3 of you should form your own band...or at least a mutual admiration society.

You could have just pointed out the rights than women and minorities don't have.

I guess it's one thing to have enshrined rights, and then have them not be implemented, or worse thwarted.
There are innumerable examples of that, 'the glass ceiling' or lower average pay for women, higher rates of incarceration, or longer terms of incarceration for the same crime, for blacks ( don't think I need to go on, else we get 'political' you get the drift).
The interesting point is that it's the same as having a law that isn't prosecuted. It's sort of not like having the law at all.
Just glad that however slowly it's happening, the times they are a-changin'.

LOL, if you think of it: the quietest one of the bunch, the one who isn't even a Stone anymore, and in his 80's - and STILL they cause controversy.
Stones Rule!

You wonder what film festivals would make about 'The life and times of Brian Jones'.
And I don't mean one that focuses on his death. But one that covers his childhood, musical influences, private life and of course his time with The Stones.
I believe he fathered a child with a 14 year old girl. Plus at least 4 others by different girls (over the age of consent).
Would the 'Censors' view his story differently as he is not around to 'benefit'from the film?

Maybe this is one reason Jagger always refused doing his memoirs?

Not so.
How short can people's memory be! He did sign up to do his memoirs, got an advance, and then, for whatever reason, gave up, and returned the advance.
So using the word "always" is wrong.
Otherwise, your analysis is good.

*quote Mick Jagger NYT 2010:
“Personally,” he says, closing his eyes and pressing his hand to his chest, “I think it’s really quite tedious raking over the past. Mostly, people only do it for the money.”

Doxa, I’ll add something to my rant about the intersectional left of today. The religious right is just as bad. I still say the driving force behind the double standards and moral outcries as of 2019 comes from the left. On the other hand there seems to be a response from the right.
the difference is that while the new moral right which emerged in the early 80s had significant damaging input on various arenas (media, courts) their objectives were never really in line with the media bias. In some areas however they found a common ground with 80s feminists and the marxists (the threat of Aids, porn, American rock music, American television, vidro games, films, homophobia against gay men, a sick belief in Satanic ritual killings of women and infants etc) and since journalists lean heavily to the left... you get (my) picture. And you probably have an answer that evaporates my hasty and poorly executed post.
