Can we hope we’ll had a decent album cover, after so many poor ones we’ve had to accept in the recent years?

I think it would be fitting to have the album cover featuring a mature Mick, Keith, Ron and Charlie standing in semi-profile again, against a semi-dark background, and with similar stances to mirror their first album cover. And have any scripts from the cover left off again. Taken together with the first album, this would make for nice "bookends" of their long and storied career.

Decent album cover AND title.
A BIGGER BANG was good but what was in it did not reflect the title, in general.

Well, in case of doubt still rather something like A BIGGER BANG than A MINOR FIZZLE ...
I'd still go with my suggestion from a few years back, NO FILLER - if (and only if) this adequately reflects the contents of the album ...
Otherwise I in fact liked the elegant simplicity of the BLUE & LONESOME cover, so something in that vein would be fine with me. The ABB cover was just horrid.

How about MICK'n'KEEF (with Ronnie!)?

The LP title was good. The cover... eh... better than FLASHPOINT (as well as the previous two releases). It just seems like after UNDERCOVER they stopped caring because they've all been awful.

I don't think the cover has a photo of the band on it. It will probably be abstract like the majority of their albums post ABKCO. Nobody wants to see a group-shot without Charlie, I quess...
A little nod to Charlie in the title or on the cover would be nice and respectful.

A few tracks that have been lying about for years that Mick will have updated. Maybe a couple of tracks on which Keith will have overdubbed a few licks.

Lets make sure there IS an album before considering the packaging...
Regarding a title, to be honest I couldn't care less. For me it won't be a proper Rolling Stones album anyway. We will get something cobbled together, rather like those 'extras' discs that come packaged with the anniversary re-releases. Some tracks with Charlie, other tracks without Charlie. A few tracks that have been lying about for years that Mick will have updated. Maybe a couple of tracks on which Keith will have overdubbed a few licks. It will be a right old mess, but which, in a few places, the odd flash of magic will peep through and we will remember when it was ALL magic...
Oh well!

I say that while thinking, the worst was DIRTY WORK followed by STEEL WHEELS, because VOODOO LOUNGE was a great title, with horrendous artwork except for...
and, the best, maybe, the bar sign.
BRIDGES TO BABYLON was pretty good albeit a little cartoonish.

If it's that easy, why took the new studio album then almost 18 years?

This is not what mpj200 said: that they had worked really hard to finish the album.
What you're describing wouldn't really be hard work.

I have no doubt Mick worked hard to finish it. He has a real work ethic about such things. And as I wrote in answer to another comment, a cobbled together album may well require more work, not less. Digging out old unissued tracks, updating lyrics, overdubs, finishing off things from the vault, and the rest.
I'm suggesting the likelihood of such an album because I think it would have been incredibly difficult getting everyone together for long enough to record things from scratch..

BTW Tattoo You regardless if it was cobbled together is a great album. I listen to it more than SOME GIRLS.

If this turns out to be a Tattoo You-ish album, with stuff cobbled together, fans will recognise the songs in an instant. It has not taken them long to do the Deluxe-albums with songs from the different respective eras.
I'm convinced the reason it has taken this long is that they have done the opposite: Made this album from scratch.

But... the brick wall. I get it could be funny but it's really old - older than Keith falling out of a coconut tree.
And, really, the NO FILTER tour was a joke, name wise, because it was indeed no filter about their 1963-1981 discography, overall: NO SURPRISES would've been more appropriate, although Sad Sad Sad in New Orleans was kind of a surprise. However, one song does not make a surprise.

I like your comment a lot. Well said. Especially about the 'no surprises' element. As that indeed would have been a much more accurate title. (…)
