For better or worse, we shouldn't forget that there are three guitar players in the Stones. So whatever the new album will turn out to be like, we can be sure that Mick has his share of duties in the axe department.

It wouldn't surprise me if Steve played some guitar, too, like he does on Winos-albums.

Isn't it enough already to get Macca on bass, possibly even Stevie Wonder, Steve on drums - and now possibly on guitar? grinning smiley

LOL, indeed! However, if we get any Jagger/Richards/Jordan-songs there might be some guitar playing from Steve.

Maybe there's even Bruce on guitar and grunts, see Hairball's post above ... winking smiley
And maybe even Stevie Wonder bashes out a few chords on his axe, and of course Slash, who was seen in a Studio where the Stones were recording a few (or not so few) years back. Since we are prepared now to face a number of well-marinated tracks, who knows who else dropped a pick in a studio so to get a credit?

Hey, let's just speculate wildly and see how long it takes until it is taken up by the press! spinning smiley sticking its tongue out

Well, according to his own words, Keith played a lot of bass in one of those sessions. So it could be also a bassist-heavy-album as well...

Great photos! Keith seemingly found his cozy place in the studio: 'here I sit and play the bass. Just go to a hotel room to change the clothes occasionally'.smiling smiley

OK, if Keith is the bass player now and Steve switches to guitar, will Darryl be the new drummer? winking smiley

Overdubbing McCartney's bass parts, perhaps?

The above pictures of Keith on bass guitar are from 2016 - [Facebook.com] - and 2021 - [www.Instagram.com] .

But since it's been "18 years and counting", McCartney might have recorded that bass track 18 years ago, for all we know!

Ringo is not envolved at all with the new Stones record.

And "special" guest Blondie Chaplin...hidden under the mixing desk covering for Keith, and also doing some background yodeling.

I think this is going to silence all those folks who claim that the Stones aren't open to change and new developments!

Keith used to be pretty good on bass fifty odd years ago, or so. He must have not kept up with it because he seems to have lost his touch.

Didn't he write a song about that, or something?
