Would have preferred "My Babe" it's catchier but not quite as bluesy ;-)

The more I listen to this the more it reminds me of "Cook Cook Blues"

Hehe, sounds like they already covered that song 34 or 31 years ago depending on whether you believe it's from the 1982 or 1985 sessions, but taking credit for it ;-)

Yeah, it does have that sound. Cook Cook and Fancy Man were, IMO, two of the best things the Stones have done since 1989. When it comes to the blues and the Stones are rolling, no one can even come close.

Speaking of, I'm still holding out hope that "You Better Leave That Man Alone" will see the light of day; that taste we got on the Four Flicks DVD was mouth-watering.

the last day of grammy eligibilty is friday which makes me think they'll release the entire disc.

most of the time when it looks like they're doing something random there's really a business decision behind it.
they used to record in jamaica, germany, france, london, los angeles etc and it gave us an image of a band that liked to keep moving.of course we now know it was just for tax purposes.

Really? Looks like it's passed:

What are the eligibility requirements?
For the 59th Annual GRAMMY Awards, albums must be released between Oct. 1, 2015 and Sept. 30, 2016. Recordings must be commercially released in general distribution in the United States, i.e. sales by label to a branch or recognized independent distributor, via the Internet, or mail order/retail sales for a nationally marketed product. Recordings must be available for sale from any date within the eligibility period through at least the date of the current year’s voting deadline (final ballot).

oh man, you're right-i went back and looked ,the article i was reading was from sept 28.
terrible move on the stones part, this is the kind of thing the grammy people go crazy for.even if it didn't sell alot at first, if it's nominated let alone wins an award the sales skyrocket.

No, on the contrary, it's a highly thoughtful decision. Clapton's I Still Do is eligible in the very same category, and in all likelihood the boys wouldn't want to step on EC's toes considering that he appears on two tracks for their blues album. It's like it was in the sixties, when the Beatles and Stones would ring each other up whenever either had a new release in the works, and if the other had something ready to put out, then the release date of the former would be moved back so as not to crowd the other.

Don't forget, Clapton and the Stones go way back, all the way back to the Ealing Club days. EC, known as "Eric the Mod" in those days, would even stand in as lead singer for the Stones on those rare occasions when Mick couldn't make it for a gig due to his LSE studies.

The Stones blues album will be eligible for the following year, and the nomination will give it the sales nudge when it really needs it, that is, in the year following its release.

In the case of "Cook Cook Blues" it's a bit more than the sound, it's pretty much the exact same song with different lyrics I reckon ;-) Fancyman was a bit more "original" and got more attention as the BSide of the lead single from SW.

So by "pretty much the exact same song with different lyrics" you were comparing the snippet to Just Your Fool, and not to Cook Cook?

I think the first single of the new blues album will be Just Your Fool from Little Walter.

Amazing they release my favourite Little Walter number as the lead single!! Just Your Fool fit the mood ALWAYS. We used to do it in my band back in 2003-04 as the closing number or at least in the encore whenever we played.

Bring It ON!!!!
