the deluxe set seems to be a bit pricy for just a thicker booklet and some postcard (three times the price of the regular CD)

Just hope it's ........ INTERESTING !

Something along the lines of:

Here's a new album of new blues covers
We're going to tour behind this album in Europe in 2017
We're going to play small venues
We're going to incorporate a seated acoustic set into the shows
We're not going to play JJF, BS, GS, SFTD, SMU, TD, SFM, IORR, YGMR, MISS YOU - AT ALL !
Ticket prices are not going to exceed GBP £100 or equivalent in other currencies
We don't give a f**k about making zillions of £s or $s or whatever else, been there n' done that
We hope you have a good time
It's been a blast, we're outa here now .... catch u in the next lifetime

O wouldn't it be nice !!??

Well 1/9 ain't bad ....... can't WAIT for the release date. This is the Stones at their best, waited a long time for this.

Fankyew the Stones, fankyew fankyew fankyew .......... all we now ask is that we can yet see you do some of these tunes LIVE LIVE LIVE LIVE

[ I want to shout, but I can hardly speak ]

The only song I know is I Can´t Quit You Baby.
All other tunes are completely new to me.

The deluxe-package is beautiful!

If the album is well received by critics and fans and sells well I can see part 2 and 3 on the horizon. That maybe would be a better choice than a new album of so-so originals.

Go on Stones, give us another blues-album! Give us a double-blues-album ! It´s only four days work!

You can always go for jpc.de and get it at 31 Euros. This is just a double price.

Not only that but in the UK also, don't want it to be that they get rolled out for these upcoming US gigs then they fall off the set list again by the time the UK comes around.

From the RS App:

The Rolling Stones announce their return to the blues with new album ‘Blue & Lonesome’ out on December 2.

On 2nd December 2016, The Rolling Stones will release ‘Blue & Lonesome’, their first studio album in over a decade. Recorded in just three days in London, England, ‘Blue & Lonesome’ takes the band back to their roots and the passion for blues music which has always been at the heart and soul of The Rolling Stones.

‘Blue & Lonesome’ is available in various formats and will be released on December 2nd by Polydor Records. It was produced by Don Was and The Glimmer Twins and is available for pre-order worldwide from today, October 6th, at 9am EST in the USA and 2pm in the UK (equivalent times worldwide), go to www.rollingstones.com.

The album was recorded over the course of just three days in December last year at British Grove Studios in West London, just a stone’s throw from Richmond and Eel Pie Island where the Stones started out as a young blues band playing pubs and clubs. Their approach to the album was that it should be spontaneous and played live in the studio without overdubs. The band - Mick Jagger (vocals & harp), Keith Richards (guitar), Charlie Watts (drums), and Ronnie Wood (guitar) were joined by their long time touring sidemen Darryl Jones (bass), Chuck Leavell (keyboards) and Matt Clifford (keyboards) and, for two of the twelve tracks, by old friend Eric Clapton, who happened to be in the next studio making his own album.

‘Blue & Lonesome’ sees the Rolling Stones tipping their hats to their early days as a blues band when they played the music of Jimmy Reed, Willie Dixon, Eddie Taylor, Little Walter and Howlin’ Wolf - artists whose songs are featured on this album. The tracks are - Just Your Fool, Commit A Crime, Blue and Lonesome, All Of Your Love, I Gotta Go, Everybody Knows About My Good Thing, Ride ‘Em On Down, Hate To See You Go, Hoo Doo Blues, Little Rain, Just Like I Treat You, I Can’t Quit You Baby. “This album is manifest testament to the purity of their love for making music, and the blues is, for the Stones, the fountainhead of everything they do.” Don Was, Co-Producer of ‘Blue & Lonesome’.
