The Rolling Stones LIVE London! The Rolling Stones began playing gigs around London in 1962, the notion that a rock & roll band would last five years, let alone fifty, was an absurdity. We could be sending you to the city where it all began and you could be the first person to secure tickets to their unreleased 2017 tour…. You might even say it’s a personal invitation. The Rolling Stones 2017 tour will be completed with an authentic vinyl box set and a 5 Star Boutique hotel stay in Central London.
Wow, that's so funny and original, never seen that before. Thanks for reminding me why I should stick to contacting those on this board who know me personally in private.Quote

10 City tour is what I've heard. Please don't ask who from.
Chriseganstar
Okay, who from?
Don't ever do that again..You must understand that if Mick finds out this guy's giving us info, he will never tell him anything again.

That's something for drunk AC/DC fans. Can't believe there are negotiations with the Stones...

The West German tour 2007 was a financial desaster for the promotors. If they had chosen Erfurt, the stadium would have been sold out.

2007 was a different thing because they've played already 2006 in Europe and also in Germany.
Erfurt is approx. a 2-hour-drive away from Frankfurt on Main and Erfurt is a city with only 210.000 inhabitants.
And high prices in Dresden? With now hundreds of Job cuts at Global Foundries, VW Manufactory, Linde KCA and probably others?
Don't dream. The Stones need now money for their new children and are not interested in "Blühende Landschaften".

I only thought about what could be a success.

The success is there, where the money is.
And again: 2007 was a different thing because of 2006.
We will wait & see where they play in Germany in 2017 ....

Bad sales 2007 does not mean bad sales 2017.

Btw Depeche Mode play two big field shows in Saxony next year, Leipzig and Dresden. AC/DC sold 150.000 tickets in Dresden 2011 and 2015.

Yes, it may be. But the Stones are in a different class (in their own) than Depeche Mode or AC/DC.
An AC/DC Ticket was approx. EUR 89 in 2009 in Cologne while a Stones Ticket was nearly the double amount in Cologne already in 2006.

Normal tickets nearly 180 Euro in Cologne 2006? Nonsense.

"...Glastonbury, Roskilde, Desert Trip, Rock in Rio, ... The list is long, and for this tour, I think it is easier to win the bid if the stage is there, vs the Stones have to build it...."
BV, what about Exit fest in Serbia?

Only 10 dates?
What's the minimum for it to be classed as a 'tour'?

Added on the rumour list:
June 3/4 2017 Rock in Vienna at Donauinsel Vienna, Austria
Isn't Rock in Vienna more of a metal fest?
The line-up in 2016: RIV 2016
That's something for drunk AC/DC fans.

On my bank receipt for the Ticket in Cologne 2006 (not the best seat) is stated EUR 156.50 and on my Ticket from Düsseldorf 2007 (inner area) is stated EUR 188.90 .
( I would post a picture of the Ticket here but it doesn't work at the moment with the IORR-website, dunno what BV has done with his "Quote-Update". )
In my opinion the Stones can play every day in Eastern Europe or East-Germany. But with a predicted number of 8-10 shows for whole Europe, the chances are quite low that they'll play in Dresden or Erfurt.

I never said they will play Dresden or Erfurt on a 10 date tour.

Really never said - [iorr.org] ?
At this moment it's pure speculation where the Stones will play in Germany in 2017. But with 8-10 dates for whole Europe I think too that Germany will get only one show. Frankfurt on Main or Düsseldorf doesn't make much sense if the Stones play in Nijmegen 2017.
My guess is that 2017 will be a reduced version of the European 14-on-Fire Tour. Oslo, Vienna, Paris, Nijmegen (instead of Landgraaf 2014), Barcelona (instead of Madrid 2014). Berlin Olympic Stadium would make sense - and it's quite in the middle of East-Germany. Then at least one show in Eastern Europe. Maybe the final show in London. That are already 8 Tour dates.

But when there are only three German shows 2014/17 why should 2 of them be in Berlin, in the middle of the GDR?
