I wear my Rolling Stones socks and underwear to every Rolling Stones concert. I show them off to a lot of people. They get a smile of a laugh.

Ohh I got around 12 pairs of Stones socks. I like them and at least here in the south of Germany it is common to take off the shoes when you enter someone elses house so when I visit family and friends they'll see my socks. My brother and my father get Stones socks every 3 or 4 years from me as a christmas present. This time they got the C&A Stones Christmas socks.

I generally have the same rule. Can't stand having dirt all around the house, plus wearing shoes dirties rugs/carpet that much faster!!

Looking for some help.

My girl is crazy about guinea pigs. We are close to having a piggie farm here.

Ive tried searching for a Pic of a guinea pig with a stones tongue pasted over its mouth, so I could get a t shirt printed up. I couldnt find any. I haven't done any "artwork" since ms paint and that was decades ago.

Could anyone help out or point me into the right direction?

A HUGE THANK YOU IN ADVANCE!!!

Back to what matters - the original and the second tongue.

Here: [iorr.org] , [iorr.org] , [iorr.org] , [iorr.org] , [iorr.org] . But note, that Ernie Cefalu worked as a freelancer for Craig Braun when the tongue & lips logo was redrawn early 1971 from John Pasche's design.

Ernie's ugly imitation was not original, it was created after the two logos by John Pasche and Craig Braun were done, nor was it ever officially used by The Rolling Stones with any album or single, and therefor doesn't count.

The Rolling Stones have made some strange decisions over the years.

This needs some further investigation. According to the 2009 UnCovered interview - [Web.Archive.org] - Ernie Cefalu said: "The logo that I did the finish on and that was used on all the merchandising was done by me well before the end of February of 1971.". The in the above post depicted 'Finalized' logo, which was used on the North American release of Sticky Fingers and which is worldwide also the most known logo variant, was redrawn by Craig Braun's in-house illustrators Walter Velez and Toni DiMiceli - [iorr.org] , [iorr.org] . But the exact timeframe for this logo redesign remains unclear yet.

Pasche was contacted by Mick in April 1970 to make a poster for their fall tour. The logo was the next thing he did later in the year for the Stones record label.

Recording and mixing STICKY FINGERS was finished in January of 1971.

Ernie can say he did his before the end of February 1971 as many times as he wants - the logo already existed because it was created in 1970.

Craig Braun redesigned it, which is what appears on the back of almost every album, single, EP and video release and a majority of the merchandise.

Brown Sugar came out April 16, 1971 and is the first release to have the Braun logo on it. STICKY FINGERS came out April 23, 1971 with the Pasche logo on the sleeve for the UK edition and the Braun logo on the sleeve for everywhere else and the Braun logo on the back of the album.

The Pasche logo was used for the 12" of Hot Stuff, the front nad back of Fool To Cry, the back cover of the Emotional Rescue single, the album, the front and back cover of She's So Cold and the cover of Undercover Of The Night.

Good summary.

Plus it was ALL based on, or heavily influenced by, an illustration by Alan Aldridge published in 1969. "The Beatles : Illustrated Lyrics" page 110/111. It is utterly inconceivable that John Pasche didn't see that when it was published.

The hint about that came here on 26-Nov-2014 from Ron Schneider (1943–2023) - [iorr.org] . After that, this 'Day Tripper' illustration by Alan Aldridge (1938-2017) was discussed ad nauseam here, for instance: [iorr.org] , [iorr.org] .

Yeah, but my actual question was about your above sentence: "it was created after the two logos by John Pasche and Craig Braun were done". When was the logo redesigned by Craig Braun's in-house illustrators Walter Velez and Toni DiMiceli in New York?

Prior to the release of Brown Sugar so you can guess fall/late 1970 or January of 1971 when the artwork and liner notes were configured.

Which clearly points out that Ernie's logo was way after.

Neither Mick or Pasche have mentioned the Alan Aldridge art, officially. I have that book. I saw that. It does seem rather obvious. But that still doesn't mean anything. Maybe they didn't see it until later.

If they're gaslighting, ha ha, they've been consistent about it for 50 plus years. However I can't see why Mick wouldn't simply acknowledge it since he's been clear about ABC in the past.

Just as Mick had Taylor record on Plundered and Keith claimed he'd know - "I'd know, babe" or whatever - when he had no idea that Taylor indeed recorded - they're all guilty of being misleading, dubious and conniving.

Keith didn't say anything after the fact.

It magically went away.

They play the game of influence/media so greatly that they're beyond being fact checked. Mick magically can't remember or makes up some believable denial while Keith has no idea or knows everything, it's one or the other.

Just as with BEGGARS-EXILE they simply continued to do what they did and a few years go by and BLACK AND BLUE comes out with some very not-Rolling Stones songs on it and a year later yet alone 2025 they acted like it didn't exist.

The only deluxe bonus material that was accurate timeline wise was TATTOO YOU.

Obviously it's not possible to say with certainty that John Pasche saw that drawing by Alan Aldridge.

But in the context of him (Pasche) being a student of illustration (at Brighton Polytechnic - and I lived in Brighton at the same time as these events) and doing his "homework", and the total domination of The Beatles in the cultural and artistic world of the people of that generation at that time, then either John Pasche lived under a rock (yes, there are very many on Brighton beach), or he saw the book.

When you are that age, and a student, you are influenced by the things that influence your peers, your tribe, and you check out the things that happen in the realm that you know about. In Pasche's case it would have been 1960's pop culture books of illustrations. (Just think, we could have had a Beardsley influenced logo!).

It's no different to members of The Beatles wanting to check out what The Rolling Stones were up to, or The Beatles checking out what The Beach Boys had done, Or two of The Rolling Stones joining in with The Beatles for the "One World" broadcast. etc etc. But...

Obviously it's not possible to say with certainty that John Pasche saw that drawing by Alan Aldridge.
