Ohh I got around 12 pairs of Stones socks. I like them and at least here in the south of Germany it is common to take off the shoes when you enter someone elses house so when I visit family and friends they'll see my socks. My brother and my father get Stones socks every 3 or 4 years from me as a christmas present. This time they got the C&A Stones Christmas socks.

I wear my Rolling Stones socks and underwear to every Rolling Stones concert. I show them off to a lot of people. They get a smile of a laugh.

That's disgusting.
Back to what matters - the original and the second tongue.

Where is Ernie Cefalu's version ?
Ernie's ugly imitation was not original, it was created after the two logos by John Pasche and Craig Braun were done, nor was it ever officially used by The Rolling Stones with any album or single, and therefor doesn't count.

Ernie's tongue has been used in official merch, though.

This needs some further investigation. According to the 2009 UnCovered interview - [Web.Archive.org] - Ernie Cefalu said: "The logo that I did the finish on and that was used on all the merchandising was done by me well before the end of February of 1971.". The in the above post depicted 'Finalized' logo, which was used on the North American release of Sticky Fingers and which is worldwide also the most known logo variant, was redrawn by Craig Braun's in-house illustrators Walter Velez and Toni DiMiceli - [iorr.org] , [iorr.org] . But the exact timeframe for this logo redesign remains unclear yet.

Pasche was contacted by Mick in April 1970 to make a poster for their fall tour. The logo was the next thing he did later in the year for the Stones record label.
Recording and mixing STICKY FINGERS was finished in January of 1971.
Ernie can say he did his before the end of February 1971 as many times as he wants - the logo already existed because it was created in 1970.
Craig Braun redesigned it, which is what appears on the back of almost every album, single, EP and video release and a majority of the merchandise.
Brown Sugar came out April 16, 1971 and is the first release to have the Braun logo on it. STICKY FINGERS came out April 23, 1971 with the Pasche logo on the sleeve for the UK edition and the Braun logo on the sleeve for everywhere else and the Braun logo on the back of the album.
The Pasche logo was used for the 12" of Hot Stuff, the front nad back of Fool To Cry, the back cover of the Emotional Rescue single, the album, the front and back cover of She's So Cold and the cover of Undercover Of The Night.

Plus it was ALL based on, or heavily influenced by, an illustration by Alan Aldridge published in 1969.

Yeah, but my actual question was about your above sentence: "it was created after the two logos by John Pasche and Craig Braun were done". When was the logo redesigned by Craig Braun's in-house illustrators Walter Velez and Toni DiMiceli in New York?

Neither Mick or Pasche have mentioned the Alan Aldridge art, officially. I have that book. I saw that. It does seem rather obvious. But that still doesn't mean anything. Maybe they didn't see it until later.
