Zgubi - a wonderful review of the front row club!

I would have been pulled over before IORR ended - your stamina is impressive.

+1, @zgubi - Why don't you email the report to BV for inclusion in the formal reviews, or it will be lost to history among a million threads.

I liked the vortex comparison reference. You are a brave young lady! Congrats on a successful mission.

Only one "rare" song this time around; number 5: Beast of Burden. Why request a warhorse to add to 16 other warhorses?

I agree but,to be fair,it was the first "You Got the Silver" for Argentina .... probably for all of South America as well other than Chile last week.

2nd "Beast of Burden" for Argentina , almost 21 years to the day.

At least they didn't do "Slipping Away" again to make the set list even more repetitive in this case.

In all fairness to our boys you must realize that Paul didn't live as hard and fast of life as most of the Stones. Now I'm a Beatles nut too but Paul these days voice is faltering and not near as strong in key or range as Mick's IMO.

In addition, I would say something that has to do with my personal musical taste: Never heard a really good Macca's album, after... "Band on the Run". It's a matter of taste, of course.

Haha shit man, Mick has never had much range tbh.

After almost half of the show in front of the stage in Buenos Aires I knew I was happy with that and with a smile on my face and happy to do so I asked to be pulled over the rail. I then walked in front of the huge audience with thousands of hands in the air and made my way to the side of the field.

Right on zgubi, congratulations on a great show.
GA floors and the rail can be a lot of fun but it is also... you know.
And for sure send your full comments/review to iorr@arena.no as seen here

Macca's speaking voice is completely shot compared to Mick's and has been for a good 10 years but somehow he manages to pull it off live most of the time (Marseille was bad last year but Paris three days later was very good oddly enough). His shows are a tad long though and he plays it pretty safe too, although Temporary Secretary was quite something last year!

The Stones need to get back to a more beefy setlist as we're quickly heading to 15 songs...during the US 50th they still had 22 and maybe 23 at the beginning, no?

@zgubi - great report and nice thoughts for those that are gone, like the wonderful Sonoko...You were at the amazing meet and greet in Abu Dhabi, right? Do you know if Elizabeth, the "social media" person is still around?

<The Stones need to get back to a more beefy setlist as we're quickly heading to 15 songs>

They play for two hours minimum, and they will keep on playing for two hours, no matter how many songs they have in their setlist.

Nailed it... hopefully this resolves the matter on these threads.
No matter how many songs / which song not played or played
the fact that the Stones are still playing is amazing.

I watched Macca last year and I got no impression that his voice was faltering at all. I was impressed rather than disappointed.

And you know that because ? Get real, you have no more clue about that than anyone else here. During the 50th tour less that 3 years ago the show lasted 2.5 hours, 'nuff said.

Fixed that for you because with your answer the way it was, well...look no further than poor old Chuck Berry and no one here wants to see that.

Those shows were special (and you know it).

Now, please point me in the direction of shows shorter than two hours from the two last decades.

It's statistics, not knowledge. Don't be difficult.

I've said it before but stop acting like you know it all and own this place by lecturing other members, you have no clue to what the future holds and the obvious trend is that the shows are getting shorter with fewer and fewer songs, that's a fact.

The shorter set-lists are probably down to the fact they're not so sprightly anymore. It takes them a little longer to refresh after each song-performance. The shows' are still around the two-hour mark, so that's all I can conclude.

Resolves? Like there was a factual dispute and it was straightened out?

Why do you insult the Stones by saying that it is amazing that they are simply playing, regardless of what and how, and that should be all anyone cares about? Nobody should say "That was a particularly great show" or "Last night's setlist was relatively weak" because all we can expect is that they show up and play?

It is amazing they lasted this long, sure. Why is that all you want to give them credit for? You insult them by saying they should be above criticism.
