Sad to think.that this will likely be the last time the Rolling Stones will ever play in Buenos Aires.

Marie France Remillard (who posted that great shot of Mick) just tweeted this one. Again, no credits.

Tried hard not to sound like a crazy lady.

Tried hard not to sound like a crazy lady.
That is a good thing to try not to sound like at a job interview. All the best to her!
*that is so sweet sssoul thank you, but to be clear my marvelous niece would never sound like a crazy lady. I, on the other hand, when discussing the RS, seeing live shows that have been cut off to me for years, all thru this tiny box
well...si, loco gringo.

Here's the PROPER one;
Maybe less songs because audience reaction takes so much time ?Quote

Why only 18 songs?!

Meanwhile, does the fact that Mick repeated the "don't cry for me Argentina" joke tonight
mean we can expect an official release of an amalgam of these shows? That and the double cameras everywhere ...[/quote
Yes, it does - or rather a documentary of the Latin American tour, which we learned of last night from the wife of the guy producing it.
I think Plink is right that the chanting in between songs accounted for the smaller number of songs. The first show was much longer than usual because of that & Daryl made that very point when some of us chatted with him after that show.
I found The middle show on Wednesday to be the strongest of the three, though last night SAsha Allen really hit her stride on Gimme Shelter. Her singing was excellent and she comes across as one amazingly confident young lady on stage.
So pleased that Keith is mixong up his songs now instead of playimg the same two all the time.

I think if that was the case, the set list would have a song(s) not played.
Unless they planned the audience reaction in advance.

Well... warhorses from now on. Great to be there!!! Goodnight.
Next saturday RIO periscoping again !!!
I'm sorry but I don't understand this they're only going to play the greatest rock & roll songs ever composed so I'm going to leave thing that some fans have. Again, I could listen to the warhorses all night every night. Those opening Keef strokes on JJF grab me every single time. The same for the others. I just love them so much.
i'm with you on this -- every time i listen to Midnight Rambler, i hear it like its the first time
I am not there. I am typing on my PC. No periscope connection. Makes a difference no?
You think I don't love THE ROLLING STONES...
I'm sorry if I implied that you don't love the Stones I was just commenting on the seeming lack of respect for some of their finest work. No offense intended.
I don't think it's a lack of respect but more boredom.
The setlist tonight was comprised of 18 songs, 12 were warhorses. Two thirds of the setlist. Of the remaining six, three have consistently showed up over the past few years. That leaves Beast of Burden and You Got the Silver as novelties - but they've popped up every half dozen or so shows. As for You Got Me Rocking, it seems only Mick is in love with it.
The warhorses are masterpieces. But there are many more masterpieces in their catalog that we rarely hear, some never. Quite a few of those are as recognizable to the casual fan as Brown Sugar.
Knocking out three of the warhorses and rotating them in and out and adding three lesser played songs would freshen up the setlist. Even for the person who has only seen the Stones twice over the past 30 years.
I love Jumping Jack Flash, but I've heard it live 70 times! I'll sacrifice it one night for Play With Fire, Under My Thumb, Rip this Joint, Sway, Worried About You, No Expectations, etc...

And now we're down to 18 songs. It was 23 not that long ago (2013).
But you get what you need.
Poor Argentina,
They gave the most and received the least.
I guess Jackson Browne was lying when he said:
People stay just a little bit longer
We want to play, just a little bit longer
Now the promoter don't mind
And the union don't mind
If we take a little time
And we leave it all behind and sing
One more song
Oh won't you stay
Just a little bit longer
Please please please, say you will
Say you will
