I was there as well. Drove down from ayrshire on my motorbike, didnt even have a ticket. Huge crowd and really warm. I remember Joe Jackson stopping and asking everyone to smile so he could take a photo of the audience as he doubted he would ever play to such a crowd again. Happy care free days.

I understand people saying that this release might not that thrilling as we already got Hampton with an almost identical setlist.

But in my opinion this release has the better picture quality judging from the old YouTube clips corresponding the Official Bootleg download.

Furthermore we can call ourselves lucky that they are doing the From the Vault series. Who imagined to have complete and high quality ProShots of LA 1975, Marquee 1971 or Texas 1978? According to rumors we might get Paradiso 1995 in 2016. The Apogee sound crew posted a picture from mixing that show on Facebook and VideoJames promised that show as the next release. If the "common shows" sell well, there will be more for sure!!!

After all the complaining over the years of the Stones not opening the vaults, I cant believe that people are now complaining about what is being released! I'm thankful for all of it ( well, except Hyde Park 69 which was a FAILED opportunity) This looks fabulous and cant wait for whats next!

Hello,

Just a question: do you think the whole show will be available in the DVD release ? becouse in youtube you can only find a cumple of songs.

I think is a very important release, no matter if you have Hampton already, everyshow is diferent.

Fernando

This is 8 minutes longer than The download. I hope it has the complete intro.

I think it is Take the A-Train like on the others 1982 shows. The download version begins with Under my thumb.

I watched my Leeds '82 bootleg last night. The camera angles are not very good, I don't remember much if ever seeing the whole band on stage in one shot. I don't know the history of the footage. Hopefully they have some other angles to cut in. That aside, I can't wait to hear this on Blu Ray. Bill was absolutely smoking on this one.

fantastic news !!! 4 DVD in the box ???

tonight I listened to 76 PARIS, EL Mocambo on different sources : reel stereo, captain acid remaster and so on.. but we need proper releases in perfect sound !!

it would be also great to get some outtakes at last OUT : still in love, Jah is not dead, Think I'm going mad by Keith and so many others.

About this item
Product Description
Continuing the very successful From The Vault series of classic, previously unreleased Rolling Stones live shows this release is taken from their performance at Roundhay Park in Leeds, England on 25 July 1982. This show was the last concert on their 1982 European Tour in support of 1981 s acclaimed Tattoo You album which would be their last live tour for seven years. About half of the Tattoo You album is included in the set including the hit single Start Me Up . This would be the last Rolling Stones show to feature Ian Stewart on piano. The footage has now been carefully restored and the sound has been newly mixed by Bob Clearmountain for this first official release of the show.

Obviously I'm mixed up. The boot DVD I watched was at Wembley 1982, which is really good. If what we're going to get is Roundhay, THAT's the one that just seems like a coked up Hampton '81. Setlist is almost identical, and it has that Ashby's Let's Spend The Night Together look to it. Sigh. This may be the first DVD I don't bother with.

And Keith´s solo is one of his best, too.
Also like Ronnie´s slide solo on YCAGWYW. The only version I know on which he plays slide.

Fantastic!! Happy memories of that day..of course it won't appeal to all..but, for me, the last proper 'Stones' gig

Kinda with you on that. I was there too and have great memories of the day. The Stones that came back in 1990 were different and it was the start of the Vegas years where the stage was almost as big a draw as the band.

True. But the Stones had to do like the other major acts of the time and had to put on a show. In the 90s and on you couldnt play a stadium just letting a few balloons fly... you had to put on a multimedia spectacle or else you would be out of the game very soon.

In the so-called Vegas-years the Stones had also more variety in their setlists than they had before. They played songs that they hadn´t been playing for ages. The Voodoo-Lounge-Tour was great and so was the Licks-Tour with its different venues and setlists. From this point of view the "Vegas-years" were superior.

I have only seen the "Vegas-Stones" several times and liked it every time. I´d loved to see them in the 70s, but then again, in a 20.000+-venue without videowalls and without standing very frontrow, what would I have seen? Nothing.

San Jose April 20, 1999 was the final U.S. No Security show filmed by Showtime but never broadcast because Mick thought they were "overexposed" at the time.

I saw them in 73 at the Birmingham odeon and i think the crowd would have been around 2.500 and cant recall any problems in watching the performance.
