Lucky Me. I love my Hampton Blu Ray.

Yea the release itself is great. The picture quality however is no better on the blu-ray than it is on the dvd.

Ah, but the sound. Although I will admit I think the bass is bit better on my old DVD boot on Black Limousine.

So....although I can live with Tokyo, and Phoenix, and I guess Leeds '82, things won't get interesting until we see what is beyond that, also assuming we get Sticky Fonda.

There´s a 2-CD & DVD-release, also a release containing a DVD and four LPs.

...Link, please?!
(Nothing like that on amazon.co.uk, so far...)

It's mentioned here in German:

There are links for all these formats at amazon.de, but saying "not available" & "UK-import". Nothing to be found elsewhere so far, except the BR at amazon.uk. But I guess Tokyo will be released in the same formats as L.A. Friday & Hampton were.

I will probably buy it.
I like the version of Gimme shelter, Keith is great on this one !
I just hope it will be in 16:9 format. I was a bit disappointed that the DVD-blu ray of the Hampton show was not in that format.
so, let's pray all together !

Hampton was originally filmed in 4:3. If they had converted it to 16:9 they would have had to crop/cut off the top and bottom of the picture. So I'm glad they kept the original aspect ratio. Tokyo 1990 was filmed for Japanese television, which was in 4:3 at the time, so I hope the new release will again keep the original aspect ratio.

Ah...!!! The complaining!!!

Look guys, the majority of the vault releases will be what was released on Google Play online a couple of years back. Tokyo 1990 has been slated for release for a long time, so I can't understand all the moaning when we all knew it was coming anyway. Be patient, and there will be lots of material available over the next years.

Planned releases are:

Brussels Affair 1973
Leeds 1982
Light The Fuse 2005

How they will put Brussels out it anyone's guess, but the rest will be released on cd and dvd/blueray.

Brussels was released in Japan as part of the Marquee package and they apparently do not have video for it. So maybe it will not be released as part of the Vault series?

Do they have video for Leeds 1982?

Personally I am not interested in the post-Wyman live stuff, so I will be quite happy with Tokyo 1990 and Leeds 1982.

I'll download for it for free or pick it up in a $10 bin at the local record store at some stage, but it's not really exciting...
bring it on...keep 'em coming..but again...is this really "the vaults" ?

It seems like we're getting the final desperate releases before we get the good stuff

I understand but Live at the Max from 1991 on blu ray has a 16:9 format.
I may be wrong but I thought there was a chance to get this Tokyo show also in that format too provided that some cameras could film that way.

Live From the Max was a movie; of course it was 16:9. I don't know the history of this video, but it sounds like it was a televised concert, so 16:9 is outta the question.

The sunshine bores the daylights out of me.

Exactly.

Japanese television in 1990 was in 4:3. I guess Tokyo 1990 was filmed on Betacam SP (analogue video), which was the industry standard for TV back then. I hope they preserve the entire frame and keep it in 4:3. The picture quality will not have the resolution of "Rolling Stones: Live at the Max" (which was filmed in the IMAX format, e.g. large format film stock). But since it is official and they can use the original source material it will be much better than the DVD bootleg versions of Tokyo 1990.

Excited about this, I love the Steel Wheels/Urban Jungle era;
Not really a surprise we're getting the stuff that originally came out as download only and the release schedule means they aren't trying to hold anything back which suggests they have plenty more stuff to come...

Okay, and I'm reaching here, was any of Brian's last tour filmed, or even stereo recorded decently? (Not Hawaii '66, that's a mono feed from an AM radio station). I'm just curious if there's real DEEP Vault left, or we're getting close to cleaning out the good stuff.

The Amazon site states this was the stones first performace in Japan. This
surprises me as I thought they had performed in Japan in the 60's. I must be wrong.

I have the audio boot of the show which I purchased for the rarly played
"Almost hear you sigh". Will be great to have on Bluray. I think this makes
three vault releases this year. Maybe they will add another - didn't the vault
release two in October last year?

there is already a very good audio Leeds'82 so it is likely to be a DVD or blu ray.

If possible they should present a better, more guitar-focussed mix compared to the download few years ago. More guitars, less Chuck and Matt ... However, in general I'm not eager for Vegas act releases.

If they release vinyl from Tokyo, surely they must do it for Leeds, too?

Yes, there is video for Leeds 1982. There was a single song clip on the Stones site.
