Any hope for Moonlight Mile or Sway?
One can dream. Steve Jordan is a big fan of Moonlight, so there's some hope. Maybe one show of the tour, in the ballad slot?

And that said... The idea of starting the show with "Gimme Shelter" I am afraid might make "Scarf Me Up" innocent business... The intro is not easiest for Keith's fingers these days, no matter how economically he tends to deliver it. In the flow of the concert it works, but that of Keith on his own starting the whole show with it, while everybody in the house still having fresh and concentrated ears, well, that would ask some balls from them...

It's likely understandable why they don't do songs like
Coming Down Again
Winter
Till The Next Goodbye
Time Waits For No One

Have a glance at the rehearsal thread - there you find the songs that are going to end up in the setlists.

I wish. They usually rehearse songs they don't play on tour, if I'm not mistaken. So, you're guaranteeing they'll play Live with Me and Emotional Rescue?

? They rehearse a lot of songs a pick a setlist out of that. They are not going onstage unrehearsed as you suggest. If they haven't rehearsed a song it won't make the setlist.
I thought this was simple mathematics and common sense but little did I know...

I was wondering... When was the last time Tumbling Dice was NOT played?
I could really do without it but that seems to be Mick's all time favorite so I don't see it ever being dropped from the set list.

Watching the songs and considering the show the Stones produce now it's clear there is a pattern and it's getting worse.
More and more each tour we are seeing a setlist that is designed for audience participation and clap along sing alongs, even Angry got the singalong segment ( that went disastrously and i'm sure will dropped from the setlist soon.)
Think about it,
GOOMC. singalong, clap , wave
Out Of Time. Singalong, C, W
Angry. singalong, C, W
YCAGWYW. sing, clap wave
MISS You. You get my drift and so on.
Way too much emphasis is on considering the audience being part of the show, i know its lovely to feel and hear the crowd but too many songs in the setlist focus on this aspect of a Stones show.
It is what it is, the Stones have been reduced to a band that tries desperately to involve the audience at the expense of delivering a Rock show that kicks ass.
