I hope all things are O.K. with BV.

Haven't heard from him since before the Atlanta gig and no reports of the show.

Hope all is well with you BV.

I’m not sure if they will make it back through Atlanta in another 10 years. So I had to be at Bobby Dodd Stadium last night. Sorry if that seems morose, but I guess I’m just realistic.

Surely no one here considers the ones going to the shows the morose part of the fanbase =) Great to hear you had a good time!

Yeah thanks Cristiano(and Tumbling Dice)

Accentuating the positive, the bit from 2:20 through where they nail the landing into "Chinese girls are so gentle" (3:30) etc. is especially good.

Curious what happened to all the people who bought duplicate seats at the Atlanta gig. I hear it was a mess. I guess the first people to arrive got those seats and the others were somehow upgraded? I just can't imagine people showing up and accepting worse seats. Perhaps some refunds were made. Anybody know the story?

peace

I didn't see anything like that going in. I did have issues with them scanning our tickets but only delayed a few minutes. There was a delay getting in but that was due to a storm delaying sound check and thus us getting in. On top of that they told us when we went in to stay in the concourse due to a storm within 2 miles of us. After that they let us out on the field.

Can't wait to hear reviews from folks who attended. Even on mobile phones tonight seemed a cut above the rest. CYHMK, YGM, SG... All played with vigor. Some Girls was a real surprise in terms of skill, vibe and intensity.

Elmo Lewis give us a review!

Great show! Lotsa fun!

The positives:

Got to see some old friends and make some new ones.

The rain cleared out - although it kept me from playing in front of hotel as I planned.

Sound was loud and clear. Guitars were high in the mix. Kudos to sound crew.

This was my 10th show dating back to 1981 and easily the best sound. The band members were all in great spirits and the playing was superb. A couple of screw ups, but who cares? Mick showed quite a sense of humor - STONE Mountain, band intros, etc. Mick and Keith seemed to be friendly and laughed quite a bit.

I loved the rarities - Atlanta often gets them.

The relatively small size for a college football stadium provided as fairly intimate feel and may have helped with the awesome sound.

I never dreamed these guys could maintain this high level of entertainemnt value. I was with some first timers and they were amazed. Hell, even us veterans were!

The negatives:

None really other than $11 beers and the merchandise featuring Georgia Tech logos. Go Dawgs! Go Stones.

You try and find one on youtube .

You Gotta Move and Some Girls are nowhere to be seen at the moment.

Maybe later or maybe tomorrow.

Good Dallas videos were showing up 2-3 days later. smiling smiley

If it is true, as we say here in Italy, that you can tell it's going to be a good day from the morning, this seems to be one hell of a YGTM!!

Thank you for the outtake too, first time I heard it. Where does it come from?

Checkmate Cristiano, history will only note it emerged at 21:22 smileys with beer
But I still struggle to evaluate it really, as I feel shut out of the build up

That's it? Don't get me wrong I love the acoustic and electric slide guitar approach but give me all the guys crowded around a couple of mics with all of them singing in the old blues tradition over Jagger and Lisa and Bernard any day.

It sounds ok, but a more group vocal approach, warts and all is what I'd prefer.

I've got the feeling this is the last we will see of this for the main tour anyway. It doesn't quite trump Moonlight Mile, not even close.

peace
