Well, I decided to cancel. Good news is that damage was minimal - $240 cancellation fee for the air ticket and $75 for that silly preferred parking. Gave the ticket to an old friend, assuming they'll allow her to pick it up at will call. I'll get some work done, watch the periscope feeds and listen to my new Sticky Fingers vinyl 2LP that arrived today (in the original Spanish jacket!). Not quite the weekend I was hoping for but not bad.

Sorry to hear the news dr. You are handling it well though - admirable!

I don't think so. This is from the right side. The tent on the right is at the back of gold.

Just got back from the Speedway. There are some zip code shirts and the Indy tongue cap at the Speedway Museum gift shop which opens tomorrow at 9:00 AM. There are two merchandise set ups outside the speedway one across the street from gate 6 and one at the south of the Coke lot at 25th and Georgetown Road. They open at 2:00 PM tomorrow, couldn't tell what they had as they were just getting things out of boxes. The main merchandise trailer will be in the Speedway, but outside of the actual concert grounds.

Weather looks perfect! Should be a great day. Heading over from Peoria. Probably skipping SOV and going in a little before RF take the the stage.

I'll go 60-65K. I bet the weather helps walk up ticket sales.

Checked into the hotel. I'm in gold and planning on getting there tomorrow around 7:30-8:00 and going in 8:30~ unless someone convinces me otherwise.
Anyone have ideas of what my wife and I can get into tomorrow during the day?

There's the Indianapolis Art Museum, modest, but okay. As mentioned earlier there's the Slippery Noodle Inn, a blues bar dating back to 1850. Shapiro's Deli is good. There's a zoo. The Speedway Museum itself is pretty cool. You can visit the War Memorial in the center of the city.

That would be the biggest attendance on this tour. So far Ohio with 59 and Pitt with 55 are tops. In 97, Texas Motor Speedway had only 48k with the Pumpkins and Dave Mathews!!! We got the same show at the Orange Bowl and we had only 54k!!!! I was expecting to get 2 shows, but S. Florida is not a Stones town.

I'm in Bronze, so the fewer fans the better for me. I've always wanted to go to a 4th of July/Halloween/New Years Eve show and have never had the opportunity. I was excited when this show was announced.

The Children's Museum is very cool. Not just for children.
The Speedway Museum has lots of amazing cars and trophies, a cool little movie of the history of the track and a photo dept that has 5 million photos you can buy!
And you can usually take a bus ride around the 2 1/2 mile oval!
Open Saturday 9am-2pm before the concert.

Definitely worth dropping in for a beer on the way to the show: Outliers Brewing, open 2-5 pm on Saturday. Try the Pooka (American sour w/boysenberry) or the Madeline La Framboise (Flanders Brown w/raspberry). It's in the brewery itaelf, just off the hipster part of Mass. Ave.

Little-known fact: the Indianapolis Museum of Art owns more than 200 photos taken by Weegee, the famous New York street photographer from the 30s onwards. It's a wonderful asset for a regional museum.

the Eiteljorg is a great museum as well and a great area to walk around. NCAA headquarters is also in downtown Indy.

Be sure to walk around the Monument Circle (exact center of city). In the center of the circle is the Soldiers and Sailors Monument, built 1988-1901 to honor Hoosiers who fought in the American Civil War (we were on the winning side, so no confederate flags here!).

From there, you could walk toward the zoo and the Eiteljorg and there is the canal walk along the way, nice area to walk around or they rent 2 & 4 wheel cycles and pedal boats.

Or you could save your feet for later and go get a steak or drinks!

We are downtown, next to the war memorial (I think, huge monument downtown?). Anyway, we can see it from the room. Probably going to check out the art museum tomorrow morning.
To clarify: no one thinks I should arrive before 8:00?

and you can rent bikes or segways down there as well.
