Maybe fans have already discussed this, but its pretty disappointing that only 2 shows on this tour have Sold Out yet (face value sellout), Milwaukee and San Diego. You can still get face value seats for all the other shows. I just checked the links on the Stones ticket page. And, as you've mentioned, those face value prices are dropping.
Why is this? Is it just ticket prices, or has this band out-lived its fans interest in attending these expensive, big production shows?

Hey people,
I'm living temporarily here in San Diego -- Ive got regular folks tix for May 24 but my whole life I have wanted to see a Stones play a pre tour Club gig, aka Toronto etc. What are the odds the boys play a small joint around San Diego and how does one find out about these things--this feels like my one shot!

IMMHO, it is entirely ticket prices. Entirely. Most people I know believe $376 for two tickets to a concert is crazy. $100, not so bad but you'd expect to not be in the nosebleeds for that price. They have way too many seats priced at $350 for these shows. The arena shows in 12/13 here in the US were way overpriced, but everyone knew Taylor would be there so many justified it as the last go round. Now we have stadiums with lower pricing, but honestly not low enough. I have heard lots of talk about priorities etc, but at over $700 for two good seats, my wife is immediately thinking 'we can't buy a new dishwasher but you can justify going to a single concert?' She's right. It is way too much money for two hours of hearing the same songs again.
Hopefully these shows will have some genuine surprises to justify the prices. If it is the same show again, which most are betting, then this will likely mark the last time I will ever pay for premium seats. Instead I'll just plan to go to any show the day of, buy seats at the box office or in the parking lot. Dead serious. I am a hardcore fan, listen to bootlegs every day, have gone to every show in my region since 97. These prices are too high.

I agree these prices are too high, and were on the last tour as well, but I also think their fan base (mostly guys from 50 - 70) just isn't up for it anymore. A small venue, they could get into, but stadiums are for kids or a family crowd.
I also think you are right in that they're not going to build this huge production, with a huge traveling crew, for just 15 shows. I bet they had more US shows lined up, if this sold out fast, but it hasn't. So they'll just take August off, and hit South America in the Fall.

A Great Opening Band would be helpful. I don't need MT. No one likes stadiums for music. Only 2 venues are covered for rain.
Better promotion to describe theme of show, if any. Their current commercials advertise them playing your favorite hits. And yes, older fans are getting tired of this. 14 on Fire as a name sucked (and they used it for 3 legs). Zipcode is worst!
The prices are crazy for cow towns. First 5 rows $1800. Then $1250, 950, 750, 400. Parking up to $75!! In Pittsburgh, 24th row, middle section is $950. The 25th row is $400!
No Live press conference. No 'new' music. No DENVER!!! IS THAT INSANE???
A COMPLETE FAILURE TURNING EVERYONE OFF. WHAT A WAY TO GO OUT OF THE USA...
WHAT REALLY GETS ME UPSET IS THAT THEY DIDN'T MAKE IT MORE DRIVEABLE FOR BETTER SUMMER CARAVANS

My best guess is the tune-up gig will be in LA. They will be rehearsing in LA in early May, they know that town and its clubs really well. They are not doing a regular show there this tour, so they owe it to those fans to do something.
They what? indeed.Quote

For the record- the complainers speak only for themselves and should not say EVERYONE!!! IN ALL CAPS BOLD RED!!! COMPLAINING ALL THE TIME!!!! IN ALL CAPS BOLD ALL THE TIME!!!!
I am not turned off at all. I am delighted The Rolling Stones are coming back and playing places they missed on the last tour and they are making entrance affordable with some lower priced tickets. If some people can not afford to pay the market rates for better tickets that is not the Stones problem.
I also dont blame them for not bothering to put out a new album. Last time they did a new album, which I happened to liked it a lot, but the cool trendy thing among the constant complainers, seemimgly unhappy with their life general, and directing that unhappiness towards the Stones, was to complain that it sucked and wasnt a carbon copy or as as good as the "top 4", the Jimmy produced albums etc etc etc blah balh blah... so why should they bother with a new album? Especially considering album sales are basically dead and a lot of people will only bitch and complain about it no matter how good it is.
THANKS FOR COMING BACK ROLLING STONES,
I AM DELIGHTED!!! AND READY TO SEE SOME LIVE STONES SHOWS!!!

Don't try to speak for everyone. Just because the band didn't cater to all your personal desires does not make the tour a failure. 99.9% of Stones fans (including myself) couldn't care less about the name of the tour or the lack of a live press conference. Just enjoy the fact that the greatest rock 'n roll band in the world is about to tour the USA. This could be the last time we're ever going to be able to say that.

The above is why the internet brings out the wrong people and makes others go away. If a person talks/chats about the interest/subject or band/country or whatever, that is NOT PERSONAL.
When you attack someone personally because you don't agree with that person is not how you have a discussion.
The tour is a failure as tours go. That's business. I will be attending many of these shows with VIP invitations and I will have FUN, but when I speak about the logistics, I think about everyone. I'm not part of that 'me' generation stuff.
There are a lot of people who don't care about many things but I do.

Indeed, you only need to look at Paris last year for proof. Top=priced regular tickets putting you at the front of the stage were 110 euros (about $115). Apart from festivals, it was the biggest venue on that European leg but the hardest ticket. I couldn't believe it sold out as quickly as it did.
A Stones show versus a dishwasher? That got me laughing
