Eavesdropping, indeed. Interesting stuff. Thank you for posting.

I didn't realise he suffered from stage fright that early in his career.

Thanks for sharing.
I have a similar feeling with the hidden microphone in Get Back, "it's a job, man".
It seems that a similar story happened in 2014 ... It's crazy how people can change or not.

Thanks for sharing this gem indeed.
About MT, Love when they say "...Sometimes he didn't knew when to stop"...and Ronnie add "...or when to start...".
More seriously, I don't think they were mean at all.
And the photo shooting of these 3 bandidos of rock'n roll during the rehearsals by Ken Regan worth every cent.

Too bad they didn't rehearse some... Their set might not have been so bad.

"He had a couple of great songs on his record." - Bob Dylan on Mick Taylor

Welp, I guess we can put to rest the claim Taylor couldn't write great songs!

I think Richards had some great insight here, not mean at all.

Interesting to hear Ronnie attempt to critique Mick Taylor - sort of a backhanded compliment - partial praise, yet at the same time a bit dismissive.
If Ronnie could only play as good........

Giddy Up, Spanish A Minor and Broken Hands are as good as any solo song by the other Stones

This was released some 20 years ago on a Rattlesnake or Dandelion release, forgot which one.

They did. But when they hit the stage Bob decided to play different songs, and Keith and Ronnie had no idea.. No stage monitors, being pretty wasted and Bob breaking off a string didn't help much either..

Cool guys.

..and a short few years later Keith still risked walking on stage with the equally unpredictable Mr Chuck Berry grinning smiley

What’s the “Sailor Song” Dylan is talking about?

The tone of Keith’s voice when they first bring him up and he says”Taylor”is really funny.Even then Keith was right that Taylor was best as a sideman, but it sounds like he misses him in the band.I wonder if he asked about him because they thought he might show up to play with Dylan at Live Aid

This was during the Live Aid rehearsals.

What did Bob mean by 'never two good gigs in a row'?

This was right after Mick had pissed Keith off by releasing his solo album.A couple of years later Keith played a couple of songs with Taylor and his band in New York.Taylor played on the Talk isCheap sessions .Live Aid was weird because Jagger and Keith both played but not together.

What did Bob mean by 'never two good gigs in a row'?

What he witnessed during his 1984 Eurotour?
(just guessing here...)

I’ve listened to a lot of those shows. I’m not sure what he’s on about, Taylor sounded pretty consistent IMO

He does indeed. He might mean his shape, perhaps?

I am curious to know what Bob was trying to say here!

I agree with him on "Broken Hands", it's a fantastic rocker.

Interesting to hear the difference of impact between open -G (Hand of Fate) and open -E tuning (Broken Hands).
