For me the greatest Stones live tracks are Jumping Jack Flash and Street Fighting Man. They nail them almost every time. Standout of the last few years: SFM in KC '15.

Other wonderful recent performances:
-No Expectations - San Jose 2013
-Memory Motel - Boston 2013
-It's All Over Now - Werchter 2014
-Ride 'Em On Down - DT & LV 2016
-Midnight Rambler - LV 2016

For me the absolute apex of live Stones is the Ya Ya's version of Sympathy For The Devil. It feels ominous, dangerous and wicked. Love Keith's partial chord figures in the intro and verses. Keith's solo is perfection and I love the way he drops back into the rhythm and thrashes away as Taylor brings it all home. I think as a kid when this first came out, it was THE track that truly got me hooked on the Stones.

Midnight Rambler from Brussels Affair. It is perfect. Keith and Mick T are completely locked in together. Keith plays with such a ferocious pace and energy also his sound and tone are heavier on that set than most others.

Since the date on which I first started this thread, the Stones have put out more things which require that I amend my original list to include the following among the band's greatest live tracks:

1. Jumping Jack Flash from Leeds - WOW! and

2. Live With Me from Leeds - double WOW!

Objectively, it's hard to say anything other than the one-two gut punch of Rambler/Sympathy from Get Yer Ya Ya's Out.

My dark horse favorite though has always been Gimme Shelter from Paradiso '95. A transcendent performance from the entire band, including Lisa, who sounded otherworldly.

Greatest Stones live track for me would come from the half-dozen below.

'Dead Flowers' (Stripped)
'Sweet Virginia' (Stripped)
'Love In Vain' (Stripped)
'The Last Time' (No Security)
'Street Fighting Man' (Live Licks)
'Champagne & Reefer' (Shine a Light)

I just got done listening to IORR off 'Love you Live'. I had forgotten what a superb version it is.

I do think the best Live recordings are out there. ALL of Ya-ya's is w/o peer.
"STray Cat Blues", "Sympathy" and "Midnight Rambler" are about as good as can be.

From the wild '73 shows there are versions of YCAGWYW and 'Love in Vain'.
And I always, always love Street Fighting Man in 72/73 as show closer. In 75 that song suffered; and in 78 you could barely tell it apart from JJF.
I think one of the very best shows ever by them is Sydney 73.

Like many others here I add Street Fighting Man from the late years. 2015,16

I have a soft spot for Under My Thumb and it's evolution through the Jones/Taylor/Wood eras. A song that has worked well in all three eras and through most of it's various live arrangement changes.

There's a particular guitar part Keith developed through 1966 - 1969 during the "take it easy babe/say it's alright" sections of the song that stood out and stuck with me for some reason.

That part sounds so cool, particurarily in the laid back 1969 versions, but it's also fresh and biting in the faster 60's and 80's versions.

I love it too, it should have been the first single, no joke. But the two live versions were pretty lame.

They should play it everywhere instead of MY, like they did a couple of times in 2006.
