There are two songs with Taylor in his list...

that may be the hottest ADTL I have ever heard, though I am fond of Brussels....

The original Brussels Affair version of ADTL is a trainwreck. But apart from that, it's great, of course smiling smiley

Monkey Man from LIVE LICKS. That is supreme.

Re: Greatest Stones Live Track

The El Mocambo side off Love You Live may be the best live set they ever put on record, imo.

Other fantastic officially released tracks:

Imagination (Fort Worth 78 and Hampton 81)
Beast Of Burden (Forth Worth 78)
Waiting On A Friend (Hampton 81)
Gimme Shelter (LA 75)
Midnight Rambler (Brussels 73)
Twenty Flight Rock (Hampton 81 and Still Life)
Factory Girl (Flashpoint)
Stray Cat Blues (Ya Yas)
Prodigal Son (Ya Yas)
You Gotta Move (Ya Yas)
Honky Tonk Women (Hyde Park 69)
I'm Moving On (Live In England '65)
Mona (Camden 64)
Cops And Robbers (Camden 64)
Wild Horses (Stripped)
Sister Morphine (No Security)
Dead Flowers (Ladies And Gentlemen)
Almost Hear You Sigh (Tokyo 90)
That's How Strong My Love Is (Live Licks)

And the list goes on...

That is so far beyond a stretch it's not nameable!

-Beast of Burden and Just My Imagination from Live in Texas.
-Tumbling Dice from Brixton Academy, 1995.
-Under My Thumb, Let's Spend the Night Together, and Just My Imagination from Hampton '81.
-Sweet Virginia and Bitch from Ladies and Gentlemen.
-Hot Stuff from Love You Live

As far as more recent stuff goes, I think the encore (You Can't Always get What You Want and Satisfaction) from the Glastonbury 2013 show is among the best I've ever heard.

But my absolute favorite is this LA '75 version of Wild Horses.

Was Sucking In The 70's the first greatest hits package that we had to buy just to get a new song or two we didn't have already?

No Stone Unturned (1973) had the second unreleased version of Poison Ivy. Not exactly a "greatest hits" album, though..

Same with Time Waits For No One (1979), where the full version of the title track was the opener.

Slow Rollers (1980) had Con le Mie Lagrime Cosi

I think Sympathy For The Devil MSG (YA YAS version, second show? Cant remember), has to be the best.
Can you imagine this captured on video?
Even casual fans are blown away with the 2 guitar attack! The Stones were never known to have soaring guitar solos...amazing song and a classic live version...the improvisation from Keith and Mick Taylor is stunning..what a band they were in 1969 !!

SITS was the first compilation that featured a previously unreleased track, If I Was A Dancer, a B-side, Everything Is Turning To Gold, and a previously unavailable (and outstanding) live version of Whip. Add in some B-side edits plus a few edited for this release and it's quite the comp.

The Virgin reissue sounds fantastic. Keith grumbled about it being part of the record contract. Which I find hilarious because it was their own label... but it really wasn't, was it. On paper it was. In reality, Rolling Stones Records was just a name. Atlantic was the record label that told them what to do.

Were Poison Ivy II, the full TWFNO and Con Le Mie Lagrime Cosi previously released?

Con Le Mie Lacrime was released on a 1966 italian single.

Ha ha!

Yes, I believe so. Those edit versions aren't nearly as interesting, although I like them, nor do they make the album special by any means. But the 3 I mentioned do and as far as I know is the only Stones comp that ever did that. RARITIES would be the only other release but that's not any kind of a hits comp.

The second Poison Ivy-version is very different from the first one, though.

I would be more than pleased to see a proper "Rarities" compilation being released, like the one listed on this thread.
