WOW!
Juiced, you may the first one in this thread to run off a long list of Vegas-era titles with no Taylor- or Brian-era trax.

Was Sucking In The 70's the first greatest hits package that we had to buy just to get a new song or two we didn't have already?

No Stone Unturned (1973) had the second unreleased version of Poison Ivy. Not exactly a "greatest hits" album, though..
Same with Time Waits For No One (1979), where the full version of the title track was the opener.
Slow Rollers (1980) had Con le Mie Lagrime Cosi

SITS was the first compilation that featured a previously unreleased track, If I Was A Dancer, a B-side, Everything Is Turning To Gold, and a previously unavailable (and outstanding) live version of Whip. Add in some B-side edits plus a few edited for this release and it's quite the comp.
The Virgin reissue sounds fantastic. Keith grumbled about it being part of the record contract. Which I find hilarious because it was their own label... but it really wasn't, was it. On paper it was. In reality, Rolling Stones Records was just a name. Atlantic was the record label that told them what to do.

Were Poison Ivy II, the full TWFNO and Con Le Mie Lagrime Cosi previously released?

You meant to say that SITS was the first compilation with an unreleased track, a B-side AND a previously unavailable live song?
I understand. I'm a little slow today, apparently...

Ha ha!
Yes, I believe so. Those edit versions aren't nearly as interesting, although I like them, nor do they make the album special by any means. But the 3 I mentioned do and as far as I know is the only Stones comp that ever did that. RARITIES would be the only other release but that's not any kind of a hits comp.
