I hope they take an extended break and release one last great record.

Nate - you're right! cool smiley Have you sorted your trip to Australia btw? My brother left on his one-way flight to Oz last night! It's a hard decision for me because if I see the stones there, I won't then see my brother for a long time....

Gregor - I remember us ladies venturing into the mens at Twickenham. winking smiley With the queues for the ladies, you don't just miss one song....

I'd be happy with Twickenham. Saw two of the stones shows there and thought it was a good venue.

One good thing I can say about Hyde Park is that the loos weren't too bad (and the shortest queues for the ladies I've ever encountered!) - not that I'd choose a venue on that. I saw the news reports about the Libertines chaos. I can't believe the organisers didn't sort themselves out after last year.

Hi Martha,I'm about 90% sure I'm going to Australia but haven't booked anything yet still deciding which city's to go to I'm thinking Sydney 100% and Brisbane or maybe Melbourne as well and still thinking about how long to go for either 2 or 3 weeks but I really think I will most probably go because if I don't I will be sitting in freezing England in November kicking myself cool smiley

They could play a surprise gig at the Hammersmith Apollo and then do two shows at either Twickenham or Wembley Stadium as far as I'm concerned.

Martha,

Yet another approver of Twickenham as a venue then smiling smiley I saw 5 shows on the Licks Tour (2 in America, 2 in Germany and 1 in my native Glasgow) and just 2 on ABB but none at Twickenham on either Tour.

1 of the Licks Twickenham shows was postponed due to Mick's laryngitis and replayed a month later. I did consider a late dash from my home along the M4 near Swindon but decided against as I'd seen 5 shows already! I believe he was advised at this point, aged 60, to no longer do 2 shows on consecutive nights, advice he's acted upon.

I hope at least one concert in London, if possible not in a stadium. The RAH is a dream I think, I'd like to come back to the O2 where I saw my best Stones concerts these last years... smiling smiley

I quite like the new Wembley, but only been for a football match < great memories for me that day >

I did enjoy the old Wembley and thought it was a great atmosphere for the one stones concert I went to.

Like Twickenham and have good memories there.

Anywhere in the UK will do for me.

Compared to Wembley Stadium and O2 Arena, RAH is almost a club show. winking smiley

Love to see them at Indigo O2, the small place inside main building.

Saw The Who there, but I don't expect The Rolling Stones to be playing there.

I guessed you might just also be a Who fan Crawdaddy for some reason. With your glasses on you bear more than just a passing resemblance to a band member smileys with beer

Yeah! I know a few have said I look like Pete Townshend.

Must be the nose I guess. Wish I had the talent of Pete or Roger. winking smiley

Don't think they show up for 1 show in London. Then it will be some 5-10 shows in either O2 or Royal Albert Hall

They will if they don't have to worry about the stage, hence BST Hyde Park.

We need to see what they have grossed at these 14 shows. That ultimately is what keeps it going.

Twickenham would be great. RAH would be amazing, although the IORR thread on ticket price complaints would be long.

I was more thinking of keeping in shape - musically (thinking of Keith)

RAH would be great, but with only 5000+ seats I guess the ticket prices would have to be 500£ or more?
Still, I guess it would be sold out immediately

Springsteen has apparently been booked for the 2015 Calling Festival in Hyde Park (not the same festival as BST summertime), London. Could the Stones be announced as the other headliner? I guess we will see, but if it is a June/July gig (s) I would rule out any indoor venue. That leaves Hyde Park, Wembley, Twickenham and if you want to push it further (although not technically in London...close though)...Knebworth.

I do know that every single fan in the world is dreaming about The Rolling Stones coming to your own home town doing a "small" show like at the Royal Albert Hall, Olympia, Budokan or similar. Then please keep in mind some important rules they have for shows these days:

- Limited number of shows (14 or so per leg)
- Available to most local fans (arena/stadium prefered)
- Central (no more Moncton, Bilbao, Hartford, Sheffield etc)

Everybody who live in Western Europe could see the Stones with a maximum of six hours of travel this summer. Why? Because they played central places and large venues. They did Waldbühne for fun, as an extra bonus, but they will not do these stunts tenfold. There might be one RAH, one Olympia, one Budocan, may be even two, if they want to record it for a DVD, but not ten.

Right now they have no plans and no commitments beyond Australia and New Zealand, but like I said in the first post here, all major concert investors in the world do see that the Stones are still a "hot ticket", and they want to book the band.

I agree with all you say there Bjornulf.

We were very lucky to get Waldbuhne, and if they do one show like that in London, we will be very happy, and lucky.

It's not gonna happen in Oz,and probably not South America, but next summer maybe. >grinning smiley<

Bjornulf,

Thanks for keeping us informed as ever. Agreed on all counts. It seems to me that the process is that the Stones covertly anounce their intention to tour and invite bids from Cities, which have mostly been Capitals on this European Tour. I hear that the most doubtful of the current tour was Tel Aviv, which beat off competition from Warsaw. I know Warsaw well and went there straight after the Stockholm show as I have several long time friends there. They were well aware of Warsaw's attempt to host a show. However, good job Tel Aviv beat them off as the venue would have been the 2 year old Stadion Narodowy, where I'm told the sound for concerts is truly awful. Any Polish IORRian who's been to a concert there will confirm this I am sure.

I'd be chuffed to bits with a return to London next year so hope it happens. It would be very apt for them to sign off in their home city.

They were highly successful in Japan this spring, and I hear promoters want them back for more shows in Japan now. Same with Europe. Same with USA & Canada. The problem is that they can't go to all these plaes. They are almost retired grandparents, just doing a few late additions to their career.

So very clearly the demand is firmly there. Yes, we musn't ever forget their ages. All of them are indeed Grandparents and one of them is a Great grandparentgrinning smiley

After 2007 I am pleasantly suprised this late addition is happening at all. What has struck me on this 2012-14+ tour is the huge enthusiasm for them amongst the under 20s. Their legacy is secure. At the B Stage in the Telenor I stood next to 2 Swedish schoolgirls and they screamed when Mick,Keith & Ronnie walked down the catwalk together during Miss You - for men 4 times their age!. For me it is great to see these young fans at shows to liven up the atmosphere.
